The Battle for Beara is part 2 of the history of the Beara-Brefine Way and the epic history of Donal Cam O'Sullivan Beara. This is something a little different but I felt it important to include the history of the hiking.
It's taken nearly 2 years to get this video up but I'm glad I took my time and made a decent effort in telling this fascinating story. After Dunboy castle fell the crown's forces felt victory had been achieved, what they were not counting on, however, was the dogged resistance of Donal Cam and his people.
This part recalls events leading up to the 31st of January 1602 when O'Sullivan set off on his faithful march.
A massive thank you has to go to Trick16 for the wonderful maps and whose help was vital in putting this together
