In 2003, the Pentagon organized a screening of the movie "The Battle of Algiers" to try to understand what strategy to use in the fight against terrorism during the Iraq war.
"The Battle of Algiers" was directed in 1965 by Gillo Pontecorvo with an anticolonialist intent, however the movie has been interpreted and reappropriated in many various ways. A story of Gillo Pontecorvo's "The Battle of Algiers" : from anticolonialism to the war on terror.
