The Battle of Plataea was the final battle fought on Greek soil during the Second Persian Invasion of Greece. Xerxes has retreated and left Mardonius in charge to finish conquering Greece. The Final battle that decides the fate of the Greeks is fought near the village of Plataea during the year 479 BCE.
