This is a slideshow video set to my own stereo mix of The Beach Boys 'Do You Like Worms?' a song that was only ever partially completed for the legendary Smile project in 1966/67. This a revised version of the very first KZitem video I ever uploaded.
In this edit of the Smile Session tapes, I have used the sessions recorded for 'Holidays' to suggest the ocean voyages of European explorers/colonialists, continuing the themes of Colonialism and Manifest Destiny. This idea sprang from ‘Brian Wilson Presents Smile’ where the song ‘On A Holiday’ (the 1966 ‘Holidays’ with vocals added) reprised the “Rock, rock, roll, Plymouth Rock roll over” theme that was introduced earlier on ‘Roll Plymouth Rock’ (the 2004 version of the 1966 ‘Do You Like Worms?’) I think the resulting combination of these two songs is quite interesting and unique. Most of the vocals used in this edit are by the Beach Boys from 1966/67, but a few vocal lines from ‘Brian Wilson Presents Smile’ were mixed in where necessary to complete the song. Thanks to the other fan mixers whose work was used to create this version, and especially thanks to the amazing Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys for their great music.
