Tip for lower tuning: Turning your tone knob all the way down and using the neck pickup will help your tuner process the fundamental note, making it a much more precise job without your pedal going nuts.

I have one of these now. It is literally flawless through a 5150III EL34 100 watt head. However, that amp makes everything perfectly tight. So, if you have a more standard setup, I imagine these pickups would be too muddy.

@@iangarza990 With a 27" scale, definitely going to have to disagree with you there. If we're sticking with Ibanez, I'd recommend the M8M for that 29.4" scale if no neck pickup and how expensive it is doesn't matter to you. Outside of Ibanez, if you can track down an Agile 830, I'd say that's probably one of the best 8 strings out there in terms of spec and for the money. This is all personal preference though, so take what I said with a grain of salt

Having two volume knobs is great for jamming with other people because u can switch the pickup to mute yourself instead of having to turn the knob all the way down. U can also do cool mute unmute switch stuff with it :) - other than that, it's not super useful😂

I saw the Silver Mountain come out last year and grabbed one ASAP, all they had was the silver color at the time. My favorite color is red, so I was pretty sad when I saw they came out with these two new colors a few months later. Finally just ordered my C-7 tonight after eyeballing it for so long. Can't wait. I am a little worried though, I've never played a MS guitar before.

12:46 Well The tone knob could go away since I'm too not playing with tone. And the volume knob for bridge would also go away. With bring Bridge pickup I would like to add a small bit of neck pickup volume so that knob could stay. And ofcourse work for Split coils. I would buy silver version but there is not 9 string version and also the pickups are too muddy. I would like to have good quality not muddy pickups since other stuff can make sound even more muddy so that can kill the sound quality.

Personally, I do find use in having individual volume knobs, but only because of my immediate situation. I have no distortion pedals, so I'm stuck using the overdrive built into my Blackstar HT-1R with the gain cranked to hell and back, and it's alot easier and faster for me to flip over to the neck pickup, where I have the volume really low to get a moderately successful clean tone or to the neck for more of a typical overdriven sound than it is to lean down, reach over and toggle the overdrive on the amp and/or fiddle with the gain knob. Otherwise 1v/1t will do just fine
