It's a McCartney song from around '68 that was a hit for Mary Hopkin. Paul made a demo (in a high key) for Mary when he produced her album. This version is by a very good Australian Beatles' covers band called The Beatnix.

YES it is a beatles song. As a matter if you are true beatles you will notice that this song's original appears in a magazine from about 2005. I have the magazine, and I have always wanted to hear this song. Paul wrote in 1967 while they were making the Magical mystery tour.

I'm going to be honest. This isn't the Beatles. You can tell it's not. However, I think it's really cool that this Beatles tribute band is going back to finish the songs the Beatles didn't, so you can at least have an idea of what the song could've been if they actually had gone and record them. It's not exactly something to try and fool you. It's something here to kinda show "Hey! This is what it would've been like if the Beatles actually did full versions of these songs!"

There's bootlegs of Paul singing it as a demo for Mary Hopkin that've been circulating since the late '80s. I was quite surprised it wasn't included on Anthology 3, frankly. It's a great recording -- track it down.

This actually IS a Beatles song kind of, it was sung by a girl called Mary Hopkin in 1969 with the song credit Lennon/McCartney but that cooperations conditions were that JL and PM also credited their individual compositions "Lennon/McCartney" until the Beatles split up in 1970, altough the last song that they really wrote together was A Day In The Life from Sgt Pepper back in 67

The song was written by Paul McCartney exclusively for Mary Hopkin to release on Apple records. The Beatles did record their own version of it, though. Their version was never released as a single or appear on any of their albums. Can only be found in outtake collections & rarities compilations.

This is an Australian Beatles Tribute Band called ‘The Beatnix’ they have since changed their name to ‘The Beatels’. ‘Goodbye’ is off an album you can hear on ‘KZitem’ called ‘It’s Four You’ and if you want the cd it’s probably available on ‘The Beatels’ website. The album features 19 songs ‘Lennon & McCartney’ gave away to other artists. Hope this helps
