43 years after Lennon's death, and 22 years after Harrison's death, the remaining two Beatles Starr and McCartney managed to give a final finishing song to the band, closing the chapter of the greatest band in history.

My brother and I were both huge Beatles fans. Unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer on 27 November 2023. The last text I sent him was a link to this video, and the last text he sent me was talking about how much he liked it. Two days later he was hospitalized as the cancer took a turn for the worst, he never regained his strength and spent most of the rest of his life sleeping, the little bit he was awake he never had the strength to do much or talk a lot. This song really hits home for me. It will be 6 months next week and everyday I miss him more than the day before. RIP lil bro.

3:05 when John starts to twist / dance in the recording studio and then old Paul looks at him with that amazed / sad / happy look, it feels like John is saying « Come on cheer up old pal, don’t be sad, I’m still around ». Didn’t know that song existed, it felt like hearing the ghost voice was an old friend I haven’t seen for decades. What a hidden treasure. What a beautiful, classy, glorious way for The Beatles to say goodbye to us and bring joy to this crazy world for the last time. Originally the demo from the late seventies seems that John is singing about missing his relationship with Ringo, George and Paul, longing for reconciliation. Fast forward forty years later and the song feels like Its from Ringo's and Paul's perspective, missing their dead friends, longing to be reunited. A unique song that transcends time while possessing a dual perspective and meaning. An incredibly beautiful and poignant final song.

The late Carl Perkins revealed that when he was working with Paul in 1982 on his Tug Of War album, Linda McCartney told Carl that the last time she and Paul visited John at the Dakota apartments, as they were leaving John put his hand on Paul's shoulder and said ' think of me every now and then '. This might explain why Paul wanted to get the song finished and why he interprets the song in this way.

Tomorrow is my 75th birthday, and I couldn't wait another day to hear this beautiful song once again. The chapter in my life hasn't closed and the remaining Beatles still have more to share with us for sure. Their musical talents have endured over the years since I first heard them in 1963 and saw them on Ed Sullivan in 1964. After the JFK murder, they brought us out of the darkness with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and they've been our inspiration ever since, keeping us strong to persevere through what life's challenges await us. Thank you Boys, and God Bless.

I’m a 74-year-old guy who grew up in a rural (and I mean rural!) setting. I remember the night the Beatles were on Sullivan, and I was mesmerized. I was in college when they broke up and devastated that there would be no more Beatles music. I went on, of course, but never forgot how good they were. Later when I heard one of their old songs I was always taken back to memories of what I was doing when I first heard it. My youth was set to their music. I did not expect this effort to be very meaningful, but each time I listen and see the video I am young again. John’s lyrics are haunting, the arrangement is exactly right, and the construction of the video brings up crystal clear memories. They have put the bookend on the group and given all of us lifelong fans the closure we needed. This could not have been done before now, but that’s appropriate since the Beatles were always cutting edge. Thank you to everyone involved.

I'm in my 75th year. I grew up with the Beatles, waiting for their next single, their next album. Their music framed our lives. We danced with our first loves as their words and music gave us meanings, directions and interpretations to our feelings and emotions. It was a truly magical period to grow up in. My life and those who shared their lives with the Beatles will be forever better for what they gave us.

Well said friend. I’m 71 now and can still remember being so young and innocent watching the black and white TV when they debuted on the Ed Sullivan show in NYC. Couldn’t wait for their next single before I left the 8th grade. ❤️

Yes I'm 71 as well. Simply never tired of the Beatles and this song is no exception. My dad said back in the sixties they'd never last - he gave them two years at the most. Brilliant video.

I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan... on my honeymoon! We were so lucky to have been alive when music was the best!

At 70 yrs. Old this song so many memories of my teenage years. I saw them when I was 11 in 1964 in Cincinnati Ohio, Cincinnati Gardens. They were the best. This song brings me to tears every time I listen to it. They have been with me thru my whole life but it. Also makes me think how close I am to my end and all the friends I've lost, as well as my first boyfriend, high school years. Wow, what a beautiful song !!
