Anime endings are pretty beautiful too. Think Wind from Naruto with Akeboshi. Mehn, those flute and accent over speaking English reminds me of discovering Naruto in highschool and watching it with my siblings when we come home from school. Also pretty much anything from Do As Infinity, as featured on Inu Yasha and others...songs like Fukai Mori and Shinjustu no Uta. Beyond that, while it kinda seems as though distorted guitar is not genrally associated with beautiful sounds, but I think a lot of output by The Pillows from the late 90s to mid-00s, especially a lot of what was curated for the FLCL soundtrack, is alternative rock at its most beautiful, probably exceeding the like of Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins. Beautiful Morning with You, Hybrid Rainbow, Carnival, and Instant Music are just incredibly lush rock tunes.

It's a very American thing or possibly English speaker- thing to dismiss foreign music...because most of the non-English speaking world have no problem listening to English songs...many don't understand it but they don't dismiss it...they may make a translated version of the song or make music in the same style inspired by it.

Yeah i have noticed that i tend to listen and vibe more with music that i don't understand, and even knowing English, i don't even listen to the words really, it's the sound that the singing is doing and the song in general. You can hear how the words sounds good even if you don't understand. I always vibe more to the songs when i'm listening to Japanese/Korean+ other languages than in English or Finnish.

About the berserk opening, I've always felt the same way. from the first time I heard its off key guitars back when I had no idea what I was getting into by watching berserk, it always struck a cord with me and made me feel the exact things you described. Despite the engrish and the grasses, I've always thought this opening fit the series and guts as a character perfectly and I've never skipped it once even re-watching it now. When I saw that people actually hate on this OP and how much it gets memed on, I felt kinda dum for how much I love it lol. I wish I had that. To feel there is a community around you that shares the same passions is reassuring and I wish I knew that when I was younger. Maybe I wouldn't have been so discouraged to share my love of anime with those around me. As anime has become more mainstream in recent years with series like One Punch Man, My Hero Academia and most notably Attack on Titan bringing new fans into the fold its been refreshing to see anime get the recognition and most importantly the love it deserves beyond the closed doors of our weeb ridden bedrooms. Keep this channel going. It's the coolest thing on KZitem 💯%. I gotta say, I love your editing style and sense of comedy and I can heavily relate to being impacted by show openings. Some of my favorite to listen to tend to be very up beat, with the openings of Noragami, Hunter x Hunter, and Haikyuu coming to mind. But there are also some like the Evangelion opening, the first Tokyo Ghoul: Re opening, and the first Kekkai Sensen opening that, while not sad by any means, hit me in a different way and I love listening to them as well. I also love a show like Cowboy Bebop or Kids on the Slope that has a good background soundtrack and feel that music without lyrics can still be very very powerful. Anyways, keep up the good work my guy.

Japanese rap is legit incredible, the language just lends itself so well to it. First of all, Japanese is syllabic so most characters consist of a full syllable which makes rhyming really easy. Second, Japan has this interesting quirk of adding sounds or otherwise modifying words for effect and they have tooooons of basically filler words that can be mixed in to make rhymes work as well. Lastly, and in a lot of ways the most important for what I think makes Japanese rap work so well, they don't actually use syllables to measure their speech. Instead they have something called "mora", which are time-based rather than stress-based like syllables. In other words, rhythm is an inherent part of the language; each sound has a specific rhythm when speaking properly. To rap in Japanese, you only need to control your pitch and tempo because the rhythm is already there.
@itsgonnabeanaurfromme
Жыл бұрын
Many languages have these. Morae are present in all languages and all languages have syllables. Filler sounds are present in all languages too. Why is rhyming easy? That makes no sense if you actually speak Japanese and know how languages work.

hmm to be totally honest the very first anime opening i heard was for an anime based on Robin Hood called Robin Hood no Daibouken or The Legend of Robin Hood. It has this very ethereal, spiritual medieval music that both in english and japanese gives you this huge sense of adventure, mystery and danger but with this sensation that even in the face of uncertain doom and injustice there will be always something that will give you hope that you will survive to see another day and you just have to hang in there and believe in it, having this cool visuals of everything that happend to Robin since he was a kid and the hard challenges he has to face in order to free his land and solve the mystery of the death of his father and mother, is such a cool little anime and a very touching and inspiring music with a very charming intro. The second anime was a show known as "Chiisana Obake Acchi, Kocchi, Socchi" also known as "Three Little Ghosts, it has 3 different intros for each characters and also a overarching intro and ending for the whole show, but the intros are really catchy and they introduce you to each of the characters letting you know what they are about and what personalities they have, of course im talking about a little kids anime that's deep as a puddle in the middle of the road here, but these songs are literally burned into the back of my head forever, like people have Chala Head Chala or any of the naruto intros as something that infected them forever, i have a show about 3 chubby looking doraemon-like ghost fuckers that are the cutest thing ever and have some of the catchiest intros i ever heard, even being a grown ass man i always hold these 3 intros and ghosts very close to my heart.

You have absolutely become my favourite channel. Bleach, one piece, Naruto, dragon ball, berserk, sailor moon, jujutsu Kasien, claymore, death note and so so so sooo many banging openings. I truly believe anime is a medium that extends the raw beauty and honesty we can experience in a novel in ways our senses can hardly fathom. How did you find a niche between anime analysis and self help videos? It’s quite brilliant and it’s a great platform to use to really to talk to some of the loneliest people. Thank you dude.

Dude your shit is fire, thanks for putting yourself out there at this little pitstop. Anime intros and outros had a profound effect on me in my life too, hell a lot of anime music like Bink's Sake has too. Glad to see Paranoia Agent opening mentioned as it's living rent free in my mind too lmao.. I've shown that opening to many anime fans over the years and they've all found it disturbing as well. Great videos man!

Jesus this is fast becoming my favorite channel. You remind me a bit of RadicalSoda. I've got a rather obscure one, but the OP for Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai season 4 (I think) is a goddamn banger. The episodes are short so it's only like 30 seconds but damn.

Great video man, so many nostalgic and iconic openings from my childhood/teen/early twenties. Battlecry is what led me to Nujabes(R.IP) and eventually to lo-fi Hip Hop l. I feel like Gintama needs a mention here as it has so many great openings where both the songs and the visuals set up the tone of the show.
