I have to say, your channel has helped my depression so much. I used to have my own lil hobby farm. I lost it in a nasty divorce. I have had severe health issues due to my PTSD. I started watching your channel and I caught the bug again! The beginning of the covid I bought two ducks and ordered 25 chickens! Now I am currently looking into getting a loan to get myself a new hobby farm. Someplace I can finish raising my biological child and a child I just took in during the covid. After my divorce I have been floating from going to college to working two jobs to no job at at thanks to the covid situation. I fell into a deep, deep depression! Now I am excited to start my new life as a single mom! Thanks for getting me on track again! God Bless your family! May you continue to bless people with great ideas and your family values!

Aww, they are amazing! My grandma and grandpa used to have a farm, and this is how it worked. They would hatch at least 60 pheasants, raise them, let them go and then shoot them for money. It sounds awful but those birds would have never existed if it wasnt for that. They did also have 35 laying hens of all breeds to get eggs from, and gained about 13 more every year. Sadly, the council has put an end to their farm (it was until their birds died) and they have now been farm free for 16 years. They missed it so much that they want me to carry it on someday so they got me my first starter hen. Now I'm educated enough, I am going to rent the land (where they used to have their farm) and grow trees with fruit, vegetables and raise more hens. Wish me luck!

I'm usually not a day late seeing your videos. When you mentioned the need for something the emu's could bathe in the first thing that popped into my head was an old bathtub perhaps from the 70s. They are low to the ground so you wouldn't have to bury it. It will have a drainage whole so it can be emptied for cleaning. And they are heavy duty so they won't be able to damage it. Try Craigslist or a salvage or junk yard or even someone who's remodelling and looking to get rid of one. All the best. 😊💖

Have you considered a stock watering trough, for the Emu's? If you don't fill it all the way, perhaps. If that is too deep, perhaps one of those heavy plastic ponds you get in a garden centre? www.lowes.com/pd/MacCourt-77-in-L-x-48-in-W-Black-High-Density-Polyethylene-Pond-Liner-125-Gallon/1000864538 or www.homedepot.com/p/MacCourt-260-Gal-Large-Round-Preformed-Pond-LP7218/308771542

Maybe try handling the new hatchlings half as much as you seem to do?? It probably doesn't affect the domestic birds (hens) as much as the more exotic birds but all the handling you do is not natural for precocious birds like pheasant or quail. There a basic reason why fowl look for secluded places to brood their hatchlings even away from their own flock - never mind a six-foot tall bearded homesteader poking around repeatedly.
