I swear these consoles have a soul, I love my DS and PSP and use them much more than my phone, they are not just portable consoles, they are more than that. I love the DS' friendliness and the PSP's versatility, these consoles make me feel like a kid again and are great conversation starters. I can't wait to get a vita and a 3ds to complete my collection, maybe even a gba

Day 1 PSP owner here. Loved that nug. I still have both my original DS Lite, and PSP 1000. I would go on the web with that thing as my PRIMARY INTERNET BROWSER back in 2005. I also threw all my music on it, along with flash (which ran native with the 2.0 update), it was all you needed as a teen.

Awesome video. I especially liked the end appreciated that about how they journeyed with us. I feel like street pass on 3DS really embraced that side of the handhelds of before. All the best and have a brilliant day.

I play the heck outta my 3DS and PSVita, which can also play all DS and PSP respectively. Great handhelds, even by today's standards.

The psp couldn't actually connect to the ps3 to play on the TV, you had to buy a separate cable to connect the psp directly to the TV. It just happens that the psp go specifically could also connect to a dualshock 3 to use it as a controller (but you needed a ps3 in order to pair the controller with the handheld)

Good video! I was actually playing my DS just minutes before hopping on youtube to see this! Please ditch the fake background though, it can be hard to watch with all the glitching.

The 7th gen handheld consoles are so special to me. Before I left for college in 2005, my brother gave me a PSP. God I played so much Burnout Legends in that console. Then I also bought myself a DS because I remember the strong hype during Pokémon Pearl/Diamond's launch.🤩I remember we'd have those Pokémon parties in our dorm's common room. lol

As a man his thirties who grew up in the '90s I have a lot of nostalgia for things I grew up with in the '90s which does include Game Boy but actually somehow I think I have more nostalgia for playing the DS even though most of its lifespan was during my adulthood. They were just so many fun games on it and it was just such an awesome system. Don't get me wrong The Game Boy was a lot of fun but having to deal with the green and black colors on the screen and having to change the contrast so I can see better in certain rooms and stuff like that was really annoying. The most experience I had with Game Boy games anyways was on the Super Nintendo thanks to the Super Game Boy so maybe that's why.

the PSP is probably the one I'll use the most as it gives me the most beautiful front-end and tbh, PSP can play movies, so you could have fun watching some random movie on your PSP, I recommend a PSP 2000, and never get a PSP go unless you only can afford the street, as that one is kinda mid.

Me personally I had a 3DS, and I messed with the camera, did stupid audio recordings and of course, played games. My favourite games were Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, Super Smash Bros and much more. Even my dad liked it, his favourite was Zelda. Even when I bought a Switch, I still used my 3DS.

So I am brushing up on my Japanese and I remembered playing this kanji game on my nintendo ds. Only available in Japan and the Japanese DS at the time, I figure since I know how to read and write a little bit to hone up my Japanese while on the go. When I was a kid I remember my brother and my cousins in Japan would play pokemon on their DS. When the meal time came in I would shut down their game just to loose their progress that they have made. But I was always that kid full of responsibilities and my excitement to go to Japan was almost gone. But me trying to practice my kanji and reading comprehension, you honestly gave me this idea literally now.

i don't know who's ds systems were able to connect from across a football stadium, but it wasn't mine. had a friend who lived a few houses down from me and we couldn't even connect our systems from that distance.

Wasn't the Dreamcast the first console with online

It was, but it wasn’t the first console with Wi-Fi. The Dreamcast required an ethernet cable meaning you couldn’t connect it to the internet wirelessly.

This is when Nintendo showed no one could beat Nintendo in the handheld market Side note the switch has now sold over 140 million consoles it will probably beat the ds and maybe even the ps2
@nukfauxsho

Its crazy the PS2 has still not been beaten. Its doubtful the switch will beat the PS2 in its twilight years unless they drop an even cheaper model to sell a minimum of 10-15 million.

@@nukfauxsho That may be true, but the game sales aren't even close. Almost everything games on switch are either the best selling game in their series or one of the best selling game in their series i think the switch has made a lot more money than the PS2

@@joopvanhedel1372 I dont think you understand how many games the Ps2 sold. The PS2 had yearly published games UNTIL 2017.

@@nokuma Just because it had games until 2017 doesn't mean the games will sell well. Why do you think alphadream went bankrupt it wasn't that the Mario & Luigi remakes were bad it was because they were on the 3DS while the Switch was already released. At that time the PS 3 and 4 were released, so there are 0 reasons to buy PS2 games from 2006 to 2017
