1. The Very Beginning has a Euphonium. That's actually my specialist...or what my specialty 2. Is there some sort of trend where your charity song is absolutely....if so tell me more in the comments below. 3. Wow, this was good. Love the flow and love the words and love the dynamics and love the fact that it has a euphonium. Just an overall good message and great song.

Jaybriel Akoi right and more you listen it and more it goes under the skin. I was about 14/15 years old at that times and I with my friends we were listening Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, etc but this was out of this world, no anger, no hate, no violence but just the smoothest voices and music, astonishing harmonies and all written by them. Have a great day...

When you watch Barry singing in this video you really get to see on occasion how the brothers view their voices beyond purely as means of delivering lyrics as a melodious adjunct to the instrumentation, but also as an integral part of the instrumental ensemble to deliver the song.

Very good reaction video! Bee Gees fun fact... what do these 3 massive #1 hit's by the Bee Gees ( Too Much Heaven, Tragedy & Shadow Dancing) all have in common? Not only were they all #1 hits from 1979 but they were all written on the same afternoon! it's crazy when you even think about how talented these 3 brothers were!! The harmonies & Barry's falsetto are second to none! There will never be another group like this again........EVER!

It's funny you do mention the euphonium. That is in part a contribution from the rock band Chicago who had their own brass lineup. The Bee Gees contacted Chicago's trombonist Jimmy Pankow to write the brass parts for the song in exchange for the Bee Gees supplying vocals for one of Chicago's tracks. If you want a new project to explore, you can look up some of Chicago's songs, such as If You Leave Me Now, Questions 67 and 68, 25 or 6 to 4, Beginnings, (I've Been) Searching So Long, No Tell Lover. I think you will find them interesting. kzitem.info/news/bejne/jm-VymGpf5qehYI
@jaybrielakoi7747

ya, I know who Chicago is for sure. That's interesting that they reached out to Pankow for help with the brass parts. The worst thing ever as a brass player is when a composer is writing for you and has no idea what he's doing. Takes me like a second to glance over the music and know he's a noob and know it's going to suck. They're gonna make you go from insanely high to insanely low, horrible valve combinations and only pick your most out of tune notes to use ALL of this in a sharp key. So ya they're smart to get a brass person to help.

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats.This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.

It’s so unfortunate that our current pop stars aren’t real artist like they were back in the day. As a brass instrumentalist in high school and through college I’d play classical music and I could really see and understand the absolute genius of the composers. With the oldies I see a different talent but still an amazing generational talent. I simply don’t see it with the artists of today. They’re basically manufactured and it’s not really my thing.

Nothing wrong with going down the rabbit hole of the Bee Gees. Look up the unfortunate story of their youngest brother Andy Gibb. You either love the Bee Gees or you hate them. I am the former.

First try another great love song by the BG's "How Deep Is Your Love", then try them doing the other side of love with another great song, "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart".

Alright I'm doing this one....so to be honest I've heard it before over and over but I don't think I've see the music video as a whole. I've seen portions on vh1 but never in its entirety and this is like 25 years ago type thing.

@@jaybrielakoi7747 Yeah, I get it. It's funny though how we gain a new perspective as we age on the music we rejected in our youth. Especially love songs. The truth is we need to have lived, to have loved and to have lost something we cared very deeply for before we can appreciate many of these songs. We will always like the music that consumed us when we were 12, but we will learn to love the music that speaks to us throughout our adulthood.

@@helgar791 Ya perspectives change. I associate specific songs with specific girls when it's love songs. Actually "How Deep is Your Love" is a song I def assocaite with a specific girl. The song hasn't come up in years BUT I def saw that girl a few months ago and it's like the movies. i saw her and the song was totally playing in my head lol.
