I love Before Sunrise and maybe even more adore Before Sunset. The first has youthful beauty and magic, but the second displays unparalleled intimate communications. So it's Before Sunset that I hold in highest esteem. Before Midnight was **painful** to watch. As luck would have it I found it playing at the theater when I was trying to get away from a distressing protracted argument I was having with my husband. So not only did I go from the real frying pan to the fictional fire, but my ideal lovers got dragged through the mud of embitterment in that third movie.

I believe it’s showing us the naivety of love in the beginning idealistic, romanticised, unachievable and through life experiences or love, how it’s inevitable that relationships break down and the love changes. I think celine and Jesse are conflicted at the end of the film as they want to start that idealistic journey of love again but are hardened to the fact it will always end up with resentment.

Thanks for being the first analysis video I have watched on this trilogy, to point out that Jesse and Celine in the end become the argumentative middle aged couple on the train.

This is my absolute favorite trilogy, and to have you discuss it, admittedly, I'm a little late, nevertheless brings a great joy as I do some self reflection.

These movies are perfect from start to finish. I feel very sorry and sad for people who haven't heard of them or want to give them a chance. I showed one friend years ago and he fell in love with them. I tried showing another friend but he was stubborn and couldn't imagine a dialogue heavy movie being engaging. I did all I could to try and convince him and his wife to watch them with me but it was a lost cause. He just didn't want to watch them. Now I have no one else to show these beautiful movies to and I think that hurts me the most. All I can say is, if you haven't watched these, do yourself a favor and watch these gems.

The third part was undeniably heart-breaking to watch. As soon as it came out, it was - wtf they made that for ? There is plenty of drama and craziness in other movies... I appreciate the depth of the whole triology, however It is not even about being realistic... and showing people they have to ''fall'' or disappoint each other to prove that ''love''can overcome obstacles... Because you don't prove anything. People can only cause contempt in each other's heart that is very hard to erase and lack of trust takes years to recover if at all possible. ''Beyond midnight'' for me only is a sad reminder that people need to approach family and relationships in completely different ways, and that nothing the modern life can offer really works to keep two people together in everlasting love without pain. The ancient rites contain the wisdom of how to be in such relationship and people can create the right space for it. Nothing else would work, sages have explored and calculated this thousands of yrs ago, but it's what the matrix have done...

It’s a shame that through all the arguments with the love of my life we could not make it in the end. Through all the stress and anxiety, of working long nights, missing rent payments and having no food on the table. Through all the arguments and yelling, the laughing at the end. Or the late nights spent talking and smiling, conversing about a million different topics, we just could not find our footing. And when we left each other we held one another for hours, we never said a word to each other. When it was over we got up and went our seperate ways, and her last words were “I love you”. I just got in the car without a word and was gone. I still think about her and it’s been a long time ago that we were together. I still cry and toil in bed thinking about where our life could have been. And although I’m with another woman, I really believe the love I had for her won’t ever be available for anyone else again. And to me that is sad, and tragic. I’m colder now, older and more bitter. Iv lost my spark and passion for life that we gave each other. I stopped caring about living. Some days I think to myself if I had truly died all those years ago, and now just living for the sake of existing. I don’t love anyone now, I don’t love myself even.

Thanks for handing me some brownypoints. I am not at all into romantic movies because of how unrealistic and dramatic they are; but if you talk about something, it can't be bad. My girlfriend is gonna love this.

My favorite is the first one. They should have just left it at that. A dream romance that you remember forever but that doesnt need fufilling. But i wouldnt say they are in love or still in love after not being with each other more than 12 hours... infatuation?
