Chapter 188, page 17, last panel; this was cemented as my favourite panel before I ever got to that point in the story, I first came across it on one of those 'music to read Berserk to' videos on youtube. To me it's a visually powerful and breathtaking piece of art but in context with the rest of the page it really shows why he is called the struggler as he tirelessly fights to protect Casca come rain and wind. Guts' narration on how it now feels to wield his sword is so profound to me. Love it!

What this panel talks about is not only the themes of the story, it's Miura's interpretation of bushido, the way of the warrior, which is basically Japan's chivalry code used by samurai. It is a philosophy of life that consists of seven principles: justice, courage, sympathy, kindness, sincerity, honor and loyalty. If you've read Vagabond, it's basically the way of the sword. Bushido has still a big role in Japan, and is used as a work ethic.

Thanks. The strongest to me was the second example, which always hit me hardest. It wasn't Guts taking something for granted, as he once uttered a line that he never knows what he has til it's gone... so when Caska makes that small noise and it completely evaporates Guts' rage, it's his reaffirmation that he won't dedicate his life to revenge, but to the woman he loves. But yeah, I'd actually forgotten this panel, but seeing it again was great.

I wish you went into more of the visual aspect of the panel as well. It’s incredible art , an image of an incredibly long sword reaching seemingly into the clouds, parted by a bright sun beaming with beautiful rays, a sword wielded with a hand clenched with popped veins in its wrists. It almost resembles a road that leads into the heavens. You can interpret it so many different ways

Two of my current favorite panels is from chapter 369 when guts says to himself “I couldn’t even land one blow!” And when there is the full shot of him desperately clinging to the dragon slayer. It just made me feel so sad for Guts because he had come so far, and it seemed like he had a shot at piece, but it was brutally ripped away by the man he at one point swore supreme vengeance on. I imagine such a rush of hopelessness hit him, realizing he couldn’t even get revenge if he wanted to now, Griffith is still untouchable.

One of my favorite panels from berserk isn’t very well known but it hits me in the feels every time I repeat it, is during the eclipse, right before judeau dies he compares himself to guts and forces himself to move forward, telling casca “struggle, struggle, struggle some more, until you reach the end of ends, then keep struggling” it’s no artistical masterpiece in fact half the panel is black and it’s just focusing on judeau on his horse but that one line really inspires me to push on

I like it. There's a lot to berserk, so much so that I don't think a single panel could encapsulate and represent the numerous themes found within. But every story often has a driving core philosophy, one that is usually very simple. Now I'm sure everyone is going to have their own interpretation for this which makes perfect sense. However, If I had to simplify it ,in my opinion, you hit the nail on the head. Berserk teaches us life is never free of pain and we all will carry some kind of hurt because of 'wounds' we sustain in life. Find ambition and the will to endure so you can make peace with your demons, enjoy life despite its cruelty, and die one day without regret.

My favourite is the companions one, so the one of isidro, serpico, aso. standing on a bridge after they have defeated the goblin raiders and below, there is a memory of Guts where he is having a good time with the Band of the Hawk. It simply represents really well the message of hope in Berserk. Guts lost everyone he cared for and found himself on his very own again, but throughout his journey, he met isidro, Farnesse, serpico and Schirke and so he had companions again, who he could trust. It‘s a nice analogy to the real life cuz all of us might lose something or someone we actually cared for someday and so, we might tend to feeling entirely lost. But just like in Guts‘ case, we will someday see the sunrise after the dark night again and end up having something or someone new we care for. That‘s pretty much why I consider it as my personal favourite.

There's a reason 1997's title appears right after the mimic to this panel. It's these panels which 1997 properly adapted which shows they understood the attitude of Berserk perfectly. We need this if Berserk is ever readapted. I thought of this panel the moment I saw this video's title. It speaks so much that Guts' sword has always been a tool to protect not only his body, but the wounds in his heart. He will wield the sword, with determination, and we know nothing of Berserk's ending, but we can only hope that Guts _will_ die smiling.
