If your battery is dead it might not kickstart either, because an alternator needs a base current input to operate, if it's below that you might not kick start the scooter.

I might have bought a C3 back when they were new, except for one fatal flaw. They had EFI. I will not ride anything with EFI, or ABS. I got a new Metropolitan, put just over 10,000 miles on it, then I got a new 2008 Vino 125, and put 36,000 miles on it. After that I found a used 2006 Vespa GT200 (carbureted) in new condition with 1800 miles on it, and bought it on the spot. I still have it. I absolutely love it. I have a spare engine and several other parts to hopefully keep it going forever.

I just test drove a 2009 C3 yesterday with over 2500 miles on it. I'll be buying it because I like the ride and the price is pretty decent.

The C3 shares the same 4-stoke engine with the Zuma 50F/FX only. Any Yamaha Zuma made before the 2012 model uses a different 2-stoke engine.

EFI scooter with a dead battery may not kick start if there is insufficient battery juice to run the electric fuel pump.

a dead dead stone dead battery would make riding home trick but it technically COULD(But really shouldnt) be done. But youd have to maintain a higher RPM the entire time

Yesterday, I bought the C3 I tried out 3 weeks ago. I was wondering what the recessed area on the left side is for. At first, I thought that's where I have to grab to open the seat.
@randykaminski6214

Im not positive, but I believe the recessed area/handle is to help lift the scoot onto its center stand (I don’t own one, but I’m thinking about a purchase)

What do you think is the overall more bullet proof tough and reliable engine, the Yamaha C3/zuma or the Honda GET on the first gen metropolitan and ruckus? I heard tales of 30,000+ miles on both machines.
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx
4 жыл бұрын
The most bulletproof 49cc motor is hands down the 2 stroke minarelli found in the 02-09 zuma and all years of the Genuine Scooter Co buddy 50/roughhouse If I HAD to pick a 4 stroke 49cc I would take the Yamaha version. The Honda’s are underpowered in comparison. Especially if you plan to keep it stock. If you like to play with parts and tinker the Ruckus would the go to. The aftermarket support for those scooters is unreal

This is possibly worst design to carry stuffs... no flat surface at foot rest.. no back cargo rack. not sure if it is possible to add on anything for that.

@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx Racks exists for both the front and back of the C3. However, I'd recommend placing it on the back since the back is designed to carry more weight. Too much load on the front wheel could cause premature failure of the front wheel bearing.

Terrible design for under seat storage. Key is in the side and when you brush the key it breaks off. If you devise a rack, the whole top flips and you dump everything in your storage box. No storage for anything on front cowel in front of your knees. No place for phone or garage door opener. I own 2 of these and they are great scooters. Storage design is their problem. My old 2 stroke Zuma is much better for a rack and storage box. Both are the best! Try to buy a key for a C3 when you bend it over. You will not be happy!

If you want a cool unique looking 4 stroke 49cc scooter, buy a ruckus. You'll be laughed at if you drive a damn C3💀
