No problem, Gabriel! It had more room than it looked. 😅

I found it used for $1000 and omg, what a lens it is. It’s welded to my camera now.

great reviews and examples. I would be very interested by tutorials/classes about filming with a7rv as shown here

Excellent review- thanks! I use both the 1.2 GM and the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm f1.8 and won't let go of either. They somehow fit different niches that I just can't live without.

What about 50mm f1.4?

If you're talking about the new GM, a great option if you don't need f1.2 and want something a little lighter/cheaper.

The 50mm 1.2 GM is in a different level. Probably the sharpest GM lens out there.

Yeah, it's definitely the sharpest I've seen of the GMs so far.

@@Svoboda1234 Haven't gotten to do a direct comparison to the 50mm f/1.4, but they're pretty close I think.

It’s a great lens. I half want to sell it and put the money towards a telephoto, but I know I’d regret it.

For sure, it's also pretty useful in APS-C crop mode (e.g. 75mm gets you into the telephoto range).

1.4? Lighter with almost all similar specs?

Pretty much - it's another great option for sure, especially if you don't need f1.2.

The F1.2 is just too big and heavy so I decided to trade it down to the f1.4 which is a much better compromise.

The new f1.4 GM is a great choice as well!

I made that switch too, but missed the F1.2 - so when I came across a 50mm F1.2 GM reduced in price, I switched back again.

@@Jonathantuba I have both now. I haven't been good about selling off things. I also had that haunting feeling I would regret it too.

LOL - the depth of field at 1.2 on a 50 is very shallow. You won't be using it in the way he describes.
@andrewsaraceni

Get some distance on your subject, and it's not nearly as shallow as you think.
