I can't imagine how anyone is hating on this. It's a 500 dollar amp. That sounds amazing for what it is. Plus you have unlimited options to create you effect chains and amps etc. I think it's awesome for someone who doesn't want to spend 10k buying gear and just wants to have some fun

@@gregb9253 I went through 5 solid state amps (all of them Fenders) in under 10 years. I have a 1978 Fender concert amp I bought in the late 90's that has had one tube change. I switched to the solid states because the 60w concert is heavy as hell. I left my 15w blues jr on for 3 days on accident and it cost 60 bucks to get new tubes after it fried a few months later. I have a Princeton reverb 12w that has been playing ten times a month turned almost all the way up for about 2 years. When the solid state amp fries its done. I will never buy another solid state amp again. In the end the tube amps sound better and last longer so are a way better value.

All of the negative comments here are from people lacking critical thinking skills. You people need think beyond what’s in front of you. This amp is really cool!! It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this amp was not designed to be played anywhere else other than in somebody’s bedroom/living room, or jamming with friends. It’s a quick setup once you have your presets stored up for easy recall with that foot switch, which is an awesome inclusion by the way! So when you stop and think about what the amp is itself, it’s intended audience, it’s a home run! Take it from me who lives in an apartment and has a ‘67 Super Reverb and a direct clone of JM’s Dumble Steel String Singer 002. I can’t fire those things up unless I’m at a gig. This little Fender here would be perfect for my living room! Stop knocking it!

Got a DSL-1 and Dual Cube LX yet I keep looking and listening to this amp. From what I have heard (mostly YT) this together with some Vox are to my ear the best modelling amps I am aware of. Sure Katana is nice for high gain stuff out of the box but the GTX sounds like the right package (and looks) to me. Hard to beat and to my ear only the DSL-5 (no sim,all tube) is an alternative (though completely different appraoch and route) and on even a smaller budget the Champion 40 is.

I'm middle age and make a lot of money so I have kick ass equipment. Here is a hint if you want to sound like John Mayer get a Fender Princeton Reverb and a single coil Strat or Tele. The silver PRS is a bad ass guitar as well but the SE does not do so great turned up loud in my opinion. I have a 60w Concert amp a 40 what Hot Rod Deluxe a 15w blues Jr 3 and the a 12w Princton Reverb 68 re-issue silver face. I mostly play a Les Paul Classic these days because it has push pulls that turns the humbuckers int PAF single coils. I also play an SG a E335 I have two Fender Deluxe HSS Strats a Tele American Standard. My gig guitars are two Epiphone totally customized Les Paul's that have the Classic set up. Bringing expensive guitars to dive bar gigs is a bad idea and I learned that the hard way. Guitarists on youtube who don't have a bunch of live playing experience are a dime a dozen.
