The TrailScout is the fruit of the devil. When I was a guide I had a client bring one and it was so uncomfortable she was crying the first night. So I swapped her mine for the remainder of the trip thinking "how bad could it be" and after two nights I just ended up sleeping on the ground as that was vastly more comfortable.

Moist devalues the R value and can of course grow mould. So dont blow in the bag!!! The blowup bag is actually so you dont have to blow in it at all! wave it around to trap air inside; this prevents moist from getting inside the sleeping pad. Source: I have a similar one from Exped and the people in the store told me to never ever blow in it :)

Tensor have thin material below and gets holes easily. First one I bought I returned cause wouldn't hold air after 2nd use. Bought 2nd one and about to return that also due to having failed 3 times. Now moved on to REI Helix which is made from a more robust material. FYI: Tensor has a very high return rate, and they are planning on changing the material it's made from due to too many returns. Also Inflate bag is slow, and there were some problems latching it to the valve on the pad. Helix inflate bag is much better. Anyway, good luck with it. Hope it works for you. It didn't work for me.

Tho I saw the same Helix pad in an old color for US$30 in REi Outlet sale, but didn't jump fast enough. The other downside, is Nemo's lifetime warranty, whereas REi's is 1yr tho it's satisfaction guaranteed.

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core. Vertical baffles with the outer two being slightly bigger. Keeping you in the middle of it. Paired with the Big Agnes Anvil Horn 15 degree bag. I’m a thick boy and like to roll. This system allows me to stay in my bag in on my iPad while I toss and turn throughout the night. Had it on the timberline Trail for the last two years with the best nights of sleep. I take Now Sports R&R an hour before bed. With that supplement in my sleep system, I wake up refreshed and ready to hike the next day with no trail soreness. The big Agnes sleeping bag has the insulation removed out of the bottom and they add pads sleeves instead. If I need extra warmth, I sleep in my silk cocoon liner, which will provide an extra 10° of warmth.

Your gunna thank me so much you’ll wish you could give me a high five, Why don’t you fold the pad and put it flat against your back inside your Rucky, I lined mine with duct tape, to protect it from ware and tear and rubbing inside my Rucky, And it saves so much volume because I don’t have to try and fit my sleeping bag either next to it or under it, I also don’t keep my sleeping bag in the compression sack it came in, I keep my sleeping bag in a bivvy, that I stuff into a compression sack that you fold over and then clip together in the bottom of my Rucky, I put the compression sack in my bag after placing my pad folded nicely, And stuff my sleeping bag inside my bivvy into the compression sack in my bag, so it fills the volume of the bottom of the bag, push all the air out and roll and clip,
