Sounds like a good book, but you recommendations conflict each other. On one hand you speak about working nonstop on your passion, but on the other you speak about the business managing itself. Both can be true but at drastically different time points; years apart. Growing slow is not all bad. It helped me become financially independent before I turned 50 and the skills I built while running a billion dollar businesses for other companies taught me the soft skills, the financial skills and the mindset a one day course can’t teach you. Thanks for the content. Consider reviewing see, solve, scale. It’s equally good and might be perfect for your audience.

interesting to see ali be flustered describing his experiences with "hustle culture". it's a difficult position, because his life and upbrining were very different from the average viewer who didn't have great study skills and great confidence to see any meaningful output of thier hard work. this empty hustle activity for most people only compounds their reluctance for "the hustle" as they get older. i definitely don't fault him, but i think it's hard to speak to the average person's experience with hustles when i believe ali's habits and mindset, because they're so effective, took a lifetime to develop, nurture and hone.

I’m reading the book now. I’ve always felt like a member of the entrepreneur club, I’ve had businesses before. But then I had kids and moved countries and changed everything about myself, including my profession. I’m a food photographer now, living from one project to the next. I’m looked at as someone in control of my time because I make my own hours, I can show up to my kids performances and sports events, as well as take a month off and take a trip half way around the world to see my family. But I don’t have savings, I don’t have a house and I know I can have it. I’m desperately trying to think of a product that’s useful and scalable.

Just started reading the Millionaire Fastlane but it is already more interesting than most books on teaching you how to get wealthy, I can tell you early on that this book will be the best book I will ever read when it comes to finances and wealth.

Let’s say a single mother wants to make money, she is super ambitious. Well, she also has a child to take care of. Since you do so many productivity videos and was actually raised by a single mother from what I understand from your videos, would you please do one such video.

the problem Ali suffered with in this video is being kind and polite and politically correct.

This video shook me. I was not aware of having the consumer mindset, I am wondering if I can train it to become a producer; it seems like some people are naturally more inclined towards one or the other. Ali's videos have become so professional - the image quality and the contents (so to the point and efficiently presented) have greatly improved since the earlier days; it's a joy to observe that. The funny thing I noticed is the speed of Ali's speech - unlike other videos on youtube that I watch at least 1,5x speed, I almost want to slow down Ali's to process the information. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, let's see what I can do with the information I learnt 🙂

I agree with your comment on “hustle culture.” There are a lot of people at the top of their careers that tell people just starting that investing time and hard work is bad for you, yet without that time and hard work they necessarily wouldn’t be where they are?

Excellent summary, I think we’re almost all taught to go to college, get a job, and save money to slowly become a millionaire. My favorite parts of your video are when you explain the difference of a consumer and producer mindset. The idea of creating scalable systems to make money versus something that isn’t scalable (i.e. barber cutting hair). And the point about effectuation, you have to effect millions to make millions. Can’t do that selling lemonade on the corner, time to start making great KZitem vids like you Ali!

No we do those things not to become millionaires, but to contribute to civlization. Theres more to getting a higher education than to just get rich
@Killshot282

@@milkdoubt8837 people only get higher education to make more money for themselves. Their contribution to society is just a byproduct of that so obviously if people could get rich in other ways they aren’t really concerned with their contributions to society as a labourer

@@milkdoubt8837 I agree there's more to getting a higher education than getting rich. I'm a community college teacher and every semester I have my students calculate their expected loan payments after they finished their desired degree. College tuition has risen dramatically since I graduated, my payments were manageable as I was just getting started. But today it's easy for students to graduate with overwhelming debt...especially if they leave the affordable community college and head to a private University that doesn't give them any scholarships, etc.

I saw this book as a book recommendation on bigger pockets. I love book recommendations but I tend to buy books much faster than I can read them. I purchased this book and haven’t read it yet. I also just purchased the Psychology of Money due to your video.

Thanks for making this video Ali. I picked up the audiobook, but I was having trouble making progress. The authors aggressively disparaging tone was just too much for me. He spends like the first 2/3 of the book bashing on people who are different from him and that just doesn't provided value for me. 😅 This summary you put together here helped me understand why people recommend this book. Your patient and caring tone is always a refreshing experience in this world of cringy finance writers. You rock 🤘🏻
