Sorry about the weird audio peaks on this one! Edited this one on Final Cut Pro and I think something in my export settings messed it up.

Bro welcome to NYC, congrats on your new $3800 shoebox (300sf I bet barely). Great times. I remember those. Wishing you the best. It's a great camera. The GR3x. Just brilliant.

100% I have mine in my pocket as we speak. Best most powerful pocket camara for photography. I prefer to forget ny phone behind than this camera. I’ll be sharing my thoughts as well. I have the GRiiii but the GRiiiX is the perfect focal length for me.

Another positive worth checking out: with stabilisation you can handhold 1/10s photos, really useful at night!

I was exactly in the same thought process aa you.. I've spent 6 months of narrowing my choices down. I decide I want 2 cameras.. I know that's strange but I'm 60 years old and years ago I fell in love with photography.. The science behind it all.. And practicing to learn.. So, I decide on the same Ricoh x and the Fuji x100v.. Sony rx100 v or va I kept thinging what's my main purpose for the camera.. Mainly photos with a few times to video something.. Do I want to carry around a heavier Fuji or just grab and go.. I can use my phone if I want to shoot a video.. So I bought the Ricoh and love the form factor and quality built.. It just feels fun... I'm still just a little confused on the settings.. But every review I read said.. It's very easy to use and the sony interface is very frustrating for a new person.. Now, Why I decided I want 2 different small friendly size cameras.. Because I had used a leica camera 25 years ago and it was so enjoyable holding and using it.. I missed that greatly.. Note: Someone told me With Photography.. Only pick your price range first.. Not specs. Then go somewhere and put your hands on a few quality camers.. And you must like how it feels in your hand vs on looking at the absolute best spec camera.. It needs to be more enjoyable then getting a little better quality picture.. So, I loved have a quality Lieca... With using it more manually then auto settings.. I feel using and learning how to shot is live I'm in control and it becomes a piece of art that I created.. So, I'm looking for a great condition smaller and older Lieca in the ($1,000) dollar range that brings back great memories of loving to hold and use the Leica.. Not I know.. The specs don't compare to what a ($1,000) can get today.. I don't care.. What matters to me isthe fun factors.. So, I'm going to Costa Rica next month for 3 weeks.. I already have my Ricoh gr3x x and hopefully I can buy a fantastic top of the line used Lieca (like from) 2010-2016 for around ($1,000) in the next few weeks.. Does anyone have some thoughts on which one should I target.. Blesding Greg

Nice video! I was really close to settling with the X100V. However, the more things I read and watch about the Ricoh GR III, the more it seems to be the ideal camera. It’s small and compact. As somebody who takes their camera everywhere, the Ricoh GR III is perfect.

Thanks! I think overall, the X100V is a more "complete" camera. But if you specifically need something more compact with good image quality, the Ricoh can't be beat!

@ 10:35 "Unfortunately it's not weather sealed and there's no way around it..." Well if you're willing to compromise a bit on the size, you can add add the GA-1 lens adaptor and something like a UV Haze filter and you'll get a good way towards protecting the lens elements from rain. It pops off and on in 10-seconds. Bonus - the GA-1 also has external threads which means you can add a hood if you so desire...

If you have the x100v on back order and you suspect it's going to take a long time for it to ship, I definitely recommend renting or buying the GRIIIx so you can try it out! Then when the Fuji comes in, you can make your decision on which is right for you

Since you mentioned the MySpace feels, what are your thoughts on older digital cameras? I've heard they are slowly growing a community and am contemplating trying them out as current compact cameras are getting more and more expensive.
@the.jonfernandez
Жыл бұрын
I definitely think they're viable for every day shooting and documenting. I have also seen the growing community and I think they are worth trying out since they are cheaper than the other APS-C compact cameras. Image quality might not be as good coming from a 1-inch sensor but I've still seen great photos by photographers using them!

"I have it set to 2.5 meters, which is, I think 6 feet". This is such an american phrase, I wonder how tall you should be if you think that 2.5 meters are equal to 6 feet, when it is actually 8.2 feet...

I’m finding my GR3X simply is not focusing, the quality looks like a camera from 2003 Going back to the mighty iPhone
@the.jonfernandez
Жыл бұрын
Interesting, is it new? Maybe it needs a repair. Also make sure you’re not in the macro mode, because when I first got the camera I thought it was broken for not focusing and it’s because I had it in macro mode LOL. Anyways, i dont know how long you have been doing photography, but I can, without a doubt say, this camera has better image quality than majority of cameras coming out within the last 5 years. And significantly better than my IPhone 14 pro. Definitely better than a 2003 camera 😂

@@the.jonfernandez I take great shots on my Sony rx10. Actually I think I had the wrong spot focus distance on. I took a picture today of a cat, 3 fat away and it’s blurry. Think I left 2.5 on focus. Will check tomorrow I love the camera I admit
