This is sort of an overview video for my channel as it pertains to how I approach playing and teaching jazz improvisation. Above all, learning to improvise is a personal journey, but it involves years of study combined with curiosity and experimentation. The best approach is to enjoy the ride when learning how to improvise. Arthur Rhames was a VIRTUOSO improviser on 3 different instruments (saxophone, guitar, and piano), who unfortunately passed in his early thirties in 1989 before he really could get his due. There are still some amazing clips of him playing and practicing on KZitem, please go check them out! His definition of jazz improvisation blew my mind when I heard it, and though mere words can't encapsulate an art form as complex and vast as jazz, his words come the closest to describing the process that an improviser goes through when performing, imo. Please like, comment, share, and subscribe! Thanks for the love y'all been showing me while I'm just starting out on this channel, it is much appreciated!!
