My veggie soups I made last night were delicious! I made 2 big batches and spiced each differently. One I added lots of chili spices, cumin, red pepper, cilantro and garlic. The second one I used Italian spices basil, oregano, fennel powder, lots of garlic, black pepper and crushed red pepper. I used lots of low carb veggies, tomatoes, onions, leaks, cabbage, red bell pepper, yellow, bell pepper, orange bell pepper, yellow zucchini, green zucchini, mushrooms, shredded broccoli and shredded brussel sprouts and a small can of tomato paste. There was some salt in my chicken bouillon but very tasty! I will make it again sometime and make a video of preparing it. I am enjoying cooking healthy recipes now! I appreciate your videos too, Thanks for your diabetic health tips!

I am so happy that I've completely did a 360 with my sugars almost a month ago and I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 my sugar was over 600 for the last two-and-a-half almost 3 weeks it's been staying around 98 through 120 which is a really awesome range because I've been eating healthy forcing myself to eat three times a day I was not used to that I was used to eating two meals a day and I'm on 20units of insulin 1x a day and starting today this week I have to take for metformin's a day... I can't wait hopefully soon I can be off of insulin👍 and it's very true if you eat the right fruits and a small portion with lots of fiber it does buffer it so it will not raise your blood sugar levels I've already tested it with a small orange and a quarter to a half of decent sized piece of an apple and it's working I also found a bakery nearby in which has sugar free chocolate chip cookies and I had 2 of them And my blood sugar's didn't go up 😊😊😊👍👍👍

Being in a tropical country like the Philippines, we have plenty of coconut trees. For oil, I only use coconut oil because it is mostly lauric acid which is a medium-chain fatty acid. This is a beneficial oil although it is saturated fat. I seldom use olive oil. although it is unsaturated fat, because it is expensive and does not store long. Personally, I consider coconut oil as the best oil for cooking. All other oils is a no no for me.

Thank you for this video and your blog post about best foods for diabetes. I am newly diagnosed as insulin resistant and I am doing my best to make sure it doesn’t get any worse. But it makes no sense to me to be eating high carb like so many drs recommend and then taking medicine to back off the insulin. But what you’re describing here is essentially a really vegetable forward version of a low-carb diet which is by your definition Mediterranean diet. I.e. whole grains and beans included but not the primary focus. Still eating dairy and fruits and vegetables as the primary piece of the diet with some grains/beans included but not all day every day. And some chicken and eggs of course too. So thank you. I feel like I’m doing the right thing 😊

Am 79, been diabetic since 1993. overweight, hardly can stand due to a spinal injury/operation, walking is a pain in the butt unless bent over. Have to use a walker or scooter. Am trying to get on a whole foods=plant based diet. love beans, lentils, vegs, I don't like goat, mutton, fish, tolerate beef or pork, chicken. Am not a fan of cakes, cookies, pastries, like dark chocolate. Still, have to get high blood sugars down. Carb intake is 1/2 whole wheat pita bread in mornings with some cheese and coffee, use Truevia, about 1/4 teaspoon, still get high blood sugar counts. 3 shots a day, testing 4 times day.

@SugarMDs
7 күн бұрын
Turkey can be a healthy option, especially if it’s lean and minimally processed. However, processed meats like sausage, even turkey sausage, often contain high amounts of sodium and preservatives, which may not be ideal for overall health or managing diabetes. Opting for fresh, lean cuts of meat and avoiding heavily processed versions is usually a better choice.

Hi yes polenta, cornmeal etc are high glycemic index and will spike your blood sugar. Look for alternative. If you have a very small portion to curb your cravings it may work( check your blood sugar 1 hour after eating and keep it below 160) but also you need to exercise and take Medication if you want to be able to enjoy things you loved and can’t just stop cold turkey.
