In 2023, I purchased the Mystery Ranch Scree 32-liter backpack. It is now my "Go-To" Daypack and DOES offer enough space in the event your outing required a single overnight camp. I would not consider it enough capacity to support a 2 - 3 day outing, but it is not meant for that and MR offers other options if that be your need. I consider the Scree 32-liter one of the finest Daypacks out there. I don't need a bunch of dividing pockets...the Scree offers just enough internal pockets with the main dump compartment. I really like the daisy chain loops on the back, as I can attach my beaver tail accessory if needed. Now, all of that being said...Mystery Ranch re-designed the 2024 Scree model, and I no longer like it for a GREAT overall Daypack as the prior model was. Don't know why MR did it, but they redesigned the 2024 Scree-32L model to cater much more to the Alpine climbing customer base. Perhaps MR has positioned the newer Bridger 35-liter as a replacement for the prior model Scree? So, my suggestion is...anyone who wanted the MR Scree 32-liter, for a GREAT Daypack...should try and source a 2023 or earlier model...or perhaps check out the Bridger 35-liter...a RADIX 32-liter...or a Catalyst 26 backpack.

FYI - 2024 Scree-32 model backpack was redesigned to cater more to the Alpine climbing community. Two key 2024 changes are a Pack material change and eliminated the external side pockets. I suggest the 2023 or earlier model Scree-32-liter for a fantastic Daypack, flexible enough with capacity to support a single overnight camp if needed.

Just bought a new “old”bag damn cheap, Less than 120 bucks. Based on the date of manufacture tag inside it was made in 2022 and is just leftover stock. Haven’t used it yet, but that center zip had me interested in using it as a camera bag. If anyone is looking for one of these at deep discount check Sierra Trading Post.

@@Ankeneering - Cool...yeah, a 2022 model of the MR Scree 32 will be the prior model GREAT Daypack and great for single overnight camp option...I love mine I bought in 2023. In 2024, MR messed it up for everything that made it great...choosing to redesign it to specifically cater to the Alpine climbing customer base. Thanks for the Tip on Sierra.

@@Ankeneering Grabbed it at Sierra too thinking it'd make a great hybrid camera/hiking bag. The center zip works nicely to access camera gear on the go by just swinging the bag on one shoulder if you don't want to take it completely off. One of the best unexpected features has been the internal side pockets. They work great for extra lenses since they're big enough for good sized lenses even if they're in small lens pouches. The pockets don't go all the way to the bottom of the bag so they keep the lenses suspended above whatever gear you might have at the bottom of the pack and keep them easily accessible up top...with the bonus of not worrying they'll fall out of your pack when opening it up.

I think reviews like this are like the bread and butter of channel building, Of course, I could be completely wrong since I don't have a KZitem channel and really know nothing about it. As good humor is continued to be brought to the channel I will watch reviews on things I am only vaguely interested in. But bonus here I love backpacks and I may be rambling as is prone to happen after staring at computer screens for 12 hours. Recently got a Gregory Denali 75 liter

Great review with just the right amount of humor - gotta have leaky water bottle holders. I am considering this bag and yours is one of the few thorough reviews that isn't filmed on location is some woods/country/survival environment. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, just not my aim.) (For what it's worth, I go on a lot of 3-4 days trips - longer than a weekend, shorter than a week - and don't need a laptop sleeve, so I think that's one use case for which it seems ideal.)

When I go to their website it shows the exact same colours and cut that are on amazon, but with no hydration water toggle. If I get the amazon version will I get the toggle?
