Why do you leave it on Automatic for conversion campaigns? I would imagine audience network will not perform well for that campaign goal?

Hi Ben, Thank you for the great content and tips. I'm a new subscriber and knowledge that you're providing is wonderful. I noticed towards the end of the video when you clicked the automatic placement, the Estimated Daily Results- Reach decreased significantly (time stamp 8:38), wouldn't you want more people in your reach per day?

Great question - but the answer is not if those people you reach are less likely to take the action you want them to take. Then it's a waste of money.

Hi Ben, thanks for the video, help me understand why to use more targeted placements for awareness meaning less impressions and the opposite for conversions? sounds more logical to me to do it with more targeted prime placements for conversions (assuming you are targeting warm or hot audiences) and more broad and less targeted placements for awareness meaning more impression achieving the objective of awareness, what is the logic behind your recommendation? I would love to see what you are seeing and im missing. Thank you so much!

If Facebook knows and can optimise for exactly what you want you can give them more flexibility around where they put your ads - if they don't (which is the case with non-conversion based objectives) then Facebook will default to the cheapest, lowest quality placements. Not all impressions are equally valuable.

That's exactly my point, I agree that not all impressions are equally valuable, that's why I thought that broader placements meaning cheaper Impressions would be best for the awesomeness stage and more expensive, more targeted placements for the conversion stage i don't get why would you want cheaper and less quality traffic where the money is being made... I personally think that all resumes down to audience more than placements, I'm testing your method right now cause it's and interesting approach, thanks for your content Ben!

@@santiagolemini2846 Curious to hear your results.. Iknow this is a year old video.. I kinda understand why he said to be more selective with the non conversion based ad campaigns.. because alot of the other placements don't get noticed or viewed much.. But, they might be useful for lead generation or other type of conversions but what he's saying is a very broad basis.. But lets say you're selling some products as an ecommerce brand, it may also not be beneficial to target most things other than FB/IG Feeds/Stories/Reels and Search.. In Articles, Audience Network, Instream, In Messenger, could all just be taking away from your ad spend.. Ofc, if you choose Budget Optimization, FB funnels most of your spend to the most effective placements.. But, I still feel like we're probably wasting some of our revenue and time by not being selective in the first place.. I think Feeds and Stories/Reels are the way to go because these are the ones people see and interact with the most. MAybe Marketplace / IG Shop if its something people search for but im not sure how effective of a place those are for advertising.. I know when I see ads for websites in marketplace while im shopping, I dont feel inclined to click since I'm usually looking to buy something with local pickup.. My personal theory is that FB creates and pushes these "automatic" things to make us spend more money than we should in all honesty.. At the end of the day, these big corporate entities are all about AD Revenue/making money.. and with so many "ad experts" speaking in broad terms and not specific for what YOUR Business entails, it doesn't get any less confusing.. Its one of those things that you just learn from trial and error I guess.

Hi Ben, I've recently started running ads for a clothing brand, in the last month we haven't had many purchases but good metrics. There offer isn't very good for a company of the size of them so was wondering if you have any tips on how to work around the offer if possible.

No matter how good your campaign is it’s almost impossible to make up for a bad offer. You’d be much better off improving on that.

sometimes for me automatic placement cost per result is high comparing when I put only Instagram feed so I put them both in a cbo campaign is that okay?

Faiz, KZitem has a cool little function where you can slow down the video speed, thus also slowing down the speech. Check it out by clicking the gear/settings icon and going to Playback Speed. I find this function very useful where I'm watching a video and I miss something that is said in a split second or said very quickly.. or even to find small details in a short or low quality video that is going fast..
