It was a blessing in disguise. She is booming or should I say blooming! Shane is an absolute top top guy and this is the only light I will ever use from now on.

PPFD Maximum(μmol/s/㎡)based on 20'' height a. 30W grow light: 219.13 b. 40W grow light: 318.18 3. With all the research you put into LED technology it would be nice if you would put a little thought into how to improve the numbers you put up for HID lights, Because I know that the setup I use with HPS will blow away the numbers you are showing to represent MH,CMH and HPS simply by using a true parabolic reflector (white not metalic) with the bulb properly focused for the footprint you are trying to achieve.

I love raw data when making a decision especially if collected by someone knowledgeable about typical procedures for repeatable testing. Postings by others say they get similar numbers giving me more faith in the data. I know testing all brands is impossible and hopefully you did not purposefully exclude competitors with better performing products. Thank you for this video and I look forward to watching your others. I will likely buy one of your lights because it is modular and to support this channel. And spectrum is KEY! The blurple LED's give some okay PPFD's, yet the spectrum is very unbalanced, missing many important colors. Same thing with HPS. I think what's most important is spectrum and PPFD. Where Migro is great all around. But what if better COB's are released? Migro can upgrade your system! That, and the craftsmanship are why I'll pay double the price of a cheaper Chinese alternative that does less, anyday. And from what I've heard, great customer service! theres a reason most commercial growers use metal halide for vegetative growth and hps for flower. some set up some rooms to test LED but the best bud in the world is always grown with HID. the money i spent on electricity is roughly the amount of money i would spent on a ficture and LED lights break down more than HID and HID are easier to fix or replace. you can get a combo 600w ballast,reflector,timer and pulleys for $189 and you can easily grow 1lbs and $240 for a 4 month grow if your going from seed. can you show me a LED that can produce the weight and quality for the price?

I have a 3x3 flower room. I cannot find the perfect light for that size. I don’t want high readings just in the dead center I want an equal high level in the whole area. And it seems all the manufacturers are very misleading as to coverage. If they say it does a 4’x4’ divide that in half... so it seems to me.

It would be interesting if you compare these lights to a really basic do-it-yourself project. A friend of mine has a light consisting of 32 fiet 90+ cri LED bulbs. 17.5 watts a piece rated at 1600 lumens. He has a mix of 5000k and 3000k. 4x4 grow space. He gets pretty good results, but I suspect the drivers are less efficient than something with an independent power supply. Either way, for less than $300, soild value for money in my view.

I don't think anyone here can explain the difference in efficiency between a 1.25 light and 1.50 . Does that mean $.10 more a hour for electricity ? Thank you for the numbers first of all but i can only take these with a grain of salt. If you have 1 light source but super high ppfd it comes down to really poor light spread with hotspots and the edges where these kind of lights drop significantly. Hanging for example a nicely build strip panel closer to the plants is probably the better enviroment to grow plants since u let the plant photosynthesis evenly and u have less hassle trying to train them since they grow to the light and avoid stress. I wish transport wasnt an issue, otherwise i think we would see much more units using strips. I feel like for the best grow light there should also be a category for what light spectrums are being used but i really don't wanna talk down on your hard work to get all these values. Thank you very much

I think they are about 130w consumed each and about 1 PPFD per watt efficiency. 260w total x 1 = 300ppfd total. That will cover about 70cm x 70cm for flowering. Should be enough for three plants. They're not very efficient but will work well

for what the electricity cost is on those MH and HPS lights, you could replace a 1,000w hps with 3- 1,000w LED light panels and still save money and have 3 times the ppfd!.
@goonernumone8444

Dude a 1000w is a 1000w regardless, its like a pound of lead v a pound of feathers, still a pound in weight, but yes the Electric sky ES300 ( its 300w from the wall) 3 of these draw 900w but they have a efficiency of 2.0 so each light puts out about 60% more light for just 300w, use 3 of them and youll have a much bigger footprint and youll have over 60% increase in out put per watt AND what 3 times ( if not more).the footprint, whats wrong is when companies use words like 1000 or 2000 ( like spider farmer and mars hydro ) when they are really 100w and 200 watt, the biggest wattage draw for any led is 600 watt to my knowlage, after that they stop getting brighter and start getting hotter so you just use another unit!

Not having fans is i think a big helper for top LED lights. Coming from PC building i remember a typical 12V fan is roughly at 10 Watts power draw per piece. If your light has a couple of them it spends a not small % of power with getting 0 par for it. Maybe you could test on a few lights, disconnect the fans, take power and par measurements before it burns itself to death. Or just unplug the Fans run and Measure power assuming light output will be the same. I wonder how much closer some Lights would get to that magical 2.0 number. At least it is more fair against HPS etc. Those also will need some cooling/Ventilation that the LED is having on board and i think is not weighted in. Top LEDs sort of "Cheat" because not only are they more efficient, they require no fan because they stay cooler and that helps in keeping the power consumption as low as possible.

At some point would you do a test review on the Rapid led 75 watt cob by chance? I'm very Interested on how this light will hold up against other cobs and led lighting

I guess you haven't heard of Ceramic Metal Halide? I work at a hydroponics store. CMH's produce the most perfect match to the sun's light. They use half the watts of HPS and half the heat. The light is white. So, no security problems like the purple LED's. They can be used in veg and flower. They were private until about a year ago. Now everyone can buy them. A 315W CMH runs $380-450 by Hydrofarm. They are cheaper than 300W KIND LED's, $825. KIND has the best LED's on the market, by far. Off brands of LED's are cheaper, around $180. I have two CMH's in a 6'x4' area and they perform great! Always remember you get what you pay for. I would buy something cheap if you are just getting started and after a while go buy a CMH if you want to grow like the big boys.

Hi. CMH is on the list . Kind are low efficiency grow lights with a high price tag.

Hey friend, I'm not even going to act like I understand led lights at all, but have a question. I bought a bundle deal from a friend going to jailed 4 to be exact for 140 bucks. Guy said he had them built, here's my question, they say on back of light 274 x 3. And it says 11 band. What does this mean, and are they any good. Has four fans, veg, bloom , dim switches. I'm lost please help.

Looking at the Mars 300 (~130 true watt) vs the Mars reflector 48 (~100 true watt). I know they are slightly different internally but does that mean that adding reflective film/panels to the mars 300 would improve efficiency?
