Lee, thanks to your video I just ordered my first hat press, the 360 IQ. I figured my best bet is starting out the right way, and not messing around with anything less than the best chance of success!

Lee, what a great video. I got my 360 IQ a month ago and this bad boy is the truth. Because of you I also have become a testing monster as well. I've been trying to sublimate hat's and the results of the transfer has been amazing but I keep getting creases in the middle of the design. This leads me to believe that the top platen is meant to use the supplied foams on all hats. I've even used the foams on the bottom platen to bulk up the hat and still get creases. All of this is being done with parchment paper on top of the hat. I've also tried using the thin foam on top of the hat and it seems to not let the heat through the pad, resulting in a light transfers. Would love to see how you CRACK the CODE on this. Much continued success my friend.
@leestuart38
4 жыл бұрын
I've done a lot of sublimation on hats and it's incredibly hard to do since paper can't really conform to a 3D shape so you'll end up with the paper folding on itself a bit. There's a few tricks to help but it's still very inconsistent, I don't do it anymore

Exactly know about what you are talking about the crease on the old press. We ended up using the old hat press for a lot of transfer neck labels, sleeve prints and right now a lot of mask printing. See if that is doable on this press. I want to get one to replace old one press yet still have all the ability for these items.

I've never actually don't plastisol transfers with this press, and they all use different inks and adhesives so no base settings will be the same. One tip I can give is to use less temperature on the lower platen than stahls recommends for pretty much all applications. I find its way too hot
@Demon2049
2 жыл бұрын
@@leestuart38 Thank you for the reply. Yeah I’m just using regular white ink and the ryonet transfer powder and paper to screen print the transfers to hats. That’s a good tip about the lower platen heat. I will do top heat to 350 and see what happens. Thanks

I have this press on the way. Didn't wanna go cheap and when they said great for leather I was sold. I am starting with leather patches on hats for my brand. I have a question though. Did these patches come with like an adhesive already on it? Even the Stahls video on KZitem I watched didn't explain it? What do you use as an adhesive that bonds the hat and patch? I have seen people use 3M 90 Adhesive on leather then do design into patch then heat press? Any advice?
