You're absolutely right about food. It reminds me this quote from Jim Carrey: “I believe depression is legitimate. But I also believe that if you don’t exercise, eat nutritious food, get sunlight, get enough sleep, consume positive material, surround yourself with support, then you aren’t giving yourself a fighting chance.” Of course, we can't all do everything perfectly but I believe food is the first step. When I eat junk food, then I feel like crap and I don't want to do anything anymore. It's a terrible vicious cycle.

It's essential an argument that you can't get out of, because it's in your own head. The part of you that isn't depression is yelling at the depression, "Just stop! Our life is falling apart and you need to let me fix it!" But depression tells you that you're not good enough, your life is a mess because of you, you should just stop trying. Fortunately there IS hope, most people don't stay in this forever, especially when compassionate and understanding people come alongside to tell the depression vampire that it's a liar.

I love that you acknowledge how brave it is to ask for help. We are generally not inclined to revealing our weaknesses or vulnerabilities, and that is why problems like this can compound over time. It's so difficult sometimes to admit that you aren't managing something that is supposed to be relatively straightforward, like maintaining your home. It takes a big leap of faith to say this to someone and ask for them to help you. And unfortunately not everyone is as kind and compassionate as Auri and sometimes requests for help are met with judgement and making you feel even worse about yourself, which is so sad. I think the resistance to dusters comes from the way cleaning habits have evolved, as well as the thought that it could release more dust into the air VS using a wet cloth & the dust clinging to the cloth.... Also, this is the biggest reason I think that people get concerned about your never wearing a mask. The dust & the mold. That could lead to lung ________ I won't say the word but, you know what, later on. 😢 You see that often with people who've worked years in a line of work where they're consistently exposed to polluted air.

I love your videos! I love cleaning other people’s houses because I feel like I’m helping them. You do such great things for those immobilized by their depression and their feelings of being overwhelmed. I wish we had floor drains in America, it would make cleaning so much easier. I always clean some part of my own house after I watch one of your videos.

I like that you make their homes liveable. I think you don't need to clean every drawer and everything, the resident can still take their time to get the rest done when they are living in their new clean home. That little bit left will be like nothing compared to what they were dealing with before.

I use to live in a home like the ones that you clean. No matter how hard you try it can feel so overwhelmed with trying to clean because the more you clean the more mess follows you because it takes so long. I love your channel because you help those in need and you don’t judge which is the biggest thing. When you’re in that type of home you don’t ask for help because people judge you and you’d rather just live the way you’ve been living than to be made to feel less than human. You give a clean start literally and metaphorically to these people. It can take such a long time to clean on your own especially in your own space with your own things around. Because it takes so long you have to live in it while you do it and then the messes of that day just make you feel like you did nothing. You are a saint! You help those who need it without judgement and with such a positive attitude. You are an Angel, my dear!

I am always so thankful for you not only being nonjudgemental about the condition of these homes but also spreading awareness! After a severe depressive episode I asked my mother for help with cleaning and received a lot of negative comments. It has been two years since then and it still hurts me and makes me insecure about any kind of mess around my house - no matter how tidy and clean it really is. Needless to say that I haven't asked her for favours or help since then. Luckily my MIL is an angel that I can get support of whenever it might be needed❤ I love your videos and thank you for helping people in need of love, support and a fresh start in life! ❤

I have learned a lot from you about cleaning, little tips and tricks that i tend to use in my cleaning at home! BTW, i am actually learning Finnish as my 3rd language, cause my fiancee is from Finland, and i am planning to move there in a few years. Keep up the good work, and i can't wait to see more! Kiitos

I always enjoy these cleaning videos and am entertained by them and motivated by them to clean my own home. But I find it really frustrating for a video to be split into 2 parts and then instead of posting part 2 of the two videos , a new video is posted. It’s like not getting to watch the end of a movie, or not finishing a book. I’d prefer longer videos so I can see the end results, rather than waiting for a part 2 that is never comes. I understand that things can happen, files get lost or corrupted, etc.. anyway, thumbs up for your kindness in helping these people. The world needs more people in it like you.

Auri you are a light in dark times you make people happy and you give hopes to many of us with mental health problems. I like your videos and I hope you will be cleaning people homes for many years because people do need your help, like you know it's very small procent of people who can help and who can understand what is depression like and what problems can cause. Whenever I am down I remember you. Thank you😊.

I love how non judgemental you are. I think a lot of people are quick to judge these people harshly without knowing their situation. And I think regularly keeping a home clean is far easier than trying to clean a filthy home that has become like this one. So I’m hoping this particular client is able to force himself to keep it fairly clean now that it won’t feel so daunting.
