They are great hit springs. Make sure you take cash, when we went a few years ago they didn't take credit cards. Maybe that's changed, make sure you know for sure. Taken the shuttle in the winter. Rough road and I think they won't let any vehicles park unless they have 4wd. Finally, when stepping down into the pools, grab the hand rails. The stairs are slicker than ice, no joke!

I was born and raised in Steamboat Springs. I watched this in total dismay & disbelief. The hot springs were free and wilderness clear up until I was in college. Me and friends spent many hours there soaking in the creek that was at the base of the hot water hill.

Me too .. I didn’t recognize it completely. I lived there from 70’ till mid 80’s (K- middle school). It was a trek just to get there. Now they charge admission fees?!?

I have lived my entire life in steamboat I couldent imagine it any other way, but the past year hasent ben so grate for the town, but I love it
