That's a CLEAN 61, and thanks for sharing your honesty experience with those titanikel cylinders. I know I that as little as I know about making a performance 2 stroke I know even less about big block 4 strokes so I'd love to see more videos on the race truck as you're working on it! Just my $0.02

Definitely show the drag truck build. With that, you can get solid roller lifters. But it’s not necessary, you can still run big hp engines with hydraulic lifters

I tried using E85 fuel in my 77 F250 about 16 years ago. 400 with an Edelbrock carburetor, Performer intake and cam. Mainly due to fuel cost. One tank would run fine, the next tank ran like crap. I tried to make it work for about a month, with almost constant changing performance.. My theory was that the alcohol absorbed moisture from the ambient humidity (Missouri summer).

Hey Harvey, I know a lot of guys in the Midwest are running E85 in their dirt modified cars and there’s a few guys out there building carbs and getting pretty good results. Definitely some gains in terms of running cooler. My friend locally here in NW Minnesota switched his mod to E85 last season and had very good results and no issues. Not a lot of info there but it’s another place to research. Be well!

Yeah... You're going to need a sturdy powerglide. Maybe a built torqueflite. I knew a guy with a '68 firebird with a Paxton blown Chevy 502.. He couldn't keep a transmission in it without grenading. And that generic Chevy 14 bolt just can't handle that power. Run a chromoly Ford 9" rear pumpkin... Those are hard to beat for strength on a budget. E85 is a lean fuel and burns very dry and very hot... So be careful with the head. Unfortunately, I've never run e85 in high horsepower applications, but have heard horror stories of burnt valve seals... especially when combined with nitrous. I wish y'all the best of luck, and definitely post those videos.

Thank you for your shared Experience. That was great Content. So why no windowed piston on 372s 50mm . On bdc the Transfers are almost covered by the sides of the stock Piston. Isnt the most flow into the lowers in bdc? Everyone cuts down the sides of the Jug and opens the Trans but they are still covered from the stock piston. Does that still improve to flow without windowed Piston?

Hey Ironhorse! You were talking about titanickel cylinders failing...I put top end kits on 2 ms661s and 1 ms 460. So far so good after 10-20 tanks of gas each. I'm nervous now though! Guess I should take the mufflers of and look see. Any update on this problem? recalls etc.? Great channel, thank you! ps...I have the exact twin to your 61 complete with the 300 year anniversary sticker! Mine is all original and stock and still cutting firewood!

E-85 works. Like all alcohol setups you have to keep the oil maintained, and pistons scuff. But turned down like you're gonna be. It won't work as bad. When you're dumping fuel through one it gets to be an issue.

I have recently inherited a 1982 Husqvarna 61 Practica saw. It has me baffled, it appears to have so much compression that I cannot pull it thru to start it. I pulled the spark plug and the saw pulls thru very easy. It is not hitting the spark plug. I thought it may have an obstructed/plugged muffler but pulling the muffler did not help. The piston and ring look like new with no wear or gouges that I could see. I know this saw from the time it was new but it had been sitting up for years and I fully intend to have it fixed but I would like to have some idea what is wrong before I take it to an unknown shop to be fixed.

You have a bad recoil reel! It’s only picking up one of the dogs on the flywheel properly and throwing it out of center which makes it bind up and drag!
