This video gave me an idea... a keyboard with a lever on the side that lets you flip between thocky and poppy. It would just be a mechanism to lift the plate slightly, applying more or less pressure to the chosen dampening inside the board... you could also have a dial to really fine tune it. Would this make a $1000 board? Of COURSE! But we're at the point we need innovation. I've loved mechanical keyboards for close to 15 years now, and while the advancement has been good, lots of conventional parts that interchange, the raw innovative items in a keyboard just hasn't been as quick. This would allow you to have two keyboards in one. We all know we have thocky and poppy days everybody, don't deny it.

I'm quite satisfied with my Keychron Q3, especially when comparing the look to the K8 Pro. The upper part of the case goes all the way up and doesn't have that tray-ish look between the key blocks. It's heavy (2 kg) but I'm fine with that.

I recently got my first mech, the Royal Kludge RK84 (I did initially see it locally in stock here in Western Australia, but ended up finding one BNIB 2nd hand at essentially the same price after they had sold out). Super happy with it, hotswap, RGB (which I didn't even think I'd use, but I actually like it on the lowest setting), tri-mode with BT, 2.4GHz (with a dongle that can be stored in the back of it) and USB-C. The magnetic feet probably aren't as good as those dual-height flip-out feet, but do the job. I specifically wanted the del, home, end, pgup, pgdn layout on the right hand side (I feel like this is the only sensible layout for those keys). A rotary endcoder would be nice, but you can use software to make you mouse wheel act like one, anyway. It did surprise me how often I went to use the scroll wheel that used to reside on the left-hand side of my old logitech membrane board, so now I'm thinking of ways I can hack the old board and use the rotary encoder and scroll wheel from it plugged into the USB ports of this board - Oh, did I mention the RK84 has two USB pass-through ports? Unfortunately they don't act as host and can't be used wirelessly, or you could just plug a knob or wheel or whatever you wanted into it, but at least you can do that plugged with USB (or use it as an excuse to get a wireless numpad with knob).

@@tubeincompetence I would suggest Gateron Pro Browns. They are pre lubed from the factory and cost about the same as the non lubed ones.

From what I can tell the ciy gas67 is basically just the kbd67 lite but it has northfacing leds and is a third of the price.

Can you link to the Vissles for anything close to $55? Is there a purchase option with no switches somewhere or…??? I’m only seeing it for double that.

just wanted to say that I love watching your videos, even if I already own a great keyboard which I coincidentally found out about from your videos. Keep up the good work :)

Thanks for the overview - very helpful. What would you recommend for someone who sees this and says, "Wow, that Q1 would be absolutely perfect...if only it were wireless?" Mac specific keys/layout are mandatory, which seems to make it difficult for someone who wants both prebuilt and wireless.

I love your videos! Could you maybe do a review on a Hexgears keyboard? I’ve tried to do more research on them, but there is almost nothing!! Looks like a decent keyboard though and it’s $80 pre built

Hi could u please advise which is a better keyboard? Rk84 (67.5sgd) Vs tecware veil 80 (89sgd) . My priority in descending order is latency of the wireless connection , make and feel of the keyboard, quality of the switches, aesthetics ( least important). Some of the prebuilt keyboards in the video cost quite a bit more in Singapore, so I didn't consider them.

I need a tkl/ full size board that's hot swap, wireless 2.4g and wired, low latency for gaming and price JUST below the iqunix maybe $200 that also looks good. there is literally nothing that qualifies ? who am i missing ? It's a price where i'd deal with it if it wasn't exactly what i wanted but also a price that i'm gonna be fairly annoyed if it isn't good

Is the redragon not hotswap anymore? I'm looking at the link and it doesn't say anything about it and most of the reviews are acting like you can't remove the switches?

Switch and click I have an old razor keyboard that is really annoying because most of the time when I press the spacebar it fully moves the stabilizers and messes up my keyboard so I just needed some tips because I don't have and better switches or keycaps so also I wouldn't mined if you give me suggestions.
