For some incredibly strange reason I always want to play Maplestory after watching these

Perilous Wilds is simply the best single role playing book since OD&D in 1974. One book, instant campaign, dungeon, party, NPC, or whatever you freakin' need. Better than sliced bread, maybe even better than penicillin!

holy cow that's stupidly awesome! I've been thinking about perilous wilds' tables with more automation and this just hits the spot! Love it ty! It's always a good whatever day when tabletop bro posts a video haha

Another fun video. Now I have to go check that out for and play around with it. Thanks for costing me like 5 hours of my life =) Thanks for making videos for us nerds.

Huh. I guess, this is where "Pleforkamoon" (mentioned in your DW campaign diary, part 2) originated from. This name somehow sounds hilariously funny to me. Maybe because it reminds me of a weird amalgamation of "pitchfork" and "Sailor Moon" ... xD

Oh hey I haven’t seen you around in a minute. Definitely didn’t rip off your quest timers thumbnail for the thumbnail of this video. No sir!

I have used Dwarf Fortress for world generation. It was insanely detailed. Unfortunately, you have to screenshot the world map at the time of generation and stitch the parts together (they don't fit in a screen) and each zoom level separately. But once it's saved you can have hundreds of years of actual history. It's insane. (Like, I could follow the entire life on an Ogre or Dragon from its moment of creation, to each village they plundered, what treasures they stole, and how they met their end (then start following the life of whoever ended up killing it, from their moment of birth) That's maybe too much detail for someone wanting a quick map, hahaha.

Hello there! New to your channel, I too am a small time dm and wanted to ask what do you think of inkarnate or Azghaars mapmaker?
@tabletopbro
Жыл бұрын
Inkarnate is wonderful if you already have an idea for your world. I LOVE Azgaar's for VERY zoomed out maps. Definitely generates a lot of creativity from me and makes me think on the more macro level whereas this has me more focused on a campaign's elements.

I actually like making hard-to-pronounce names because it usually results in my players making up something easier for them all to remember, and even if that name is silly it sticks in their brains way more than basic shit.

That…. Actually makes a lot of sense!

It's also good if like, 99% of your names are normal easy ones, and then suddenly they see a sign that says "welcome to Xand'r-fthagn". Like, that is an immediate tone setting red flag. Something either happened here, or is currently happening here, or you're not in Kansas anymore.

Exactly! I even do this with NPCs, but I don't make up names, I just tell the profession. Only after they went to the same baker, smith, trader, whatever for the nth time, I let the players choose aname for them. that way they never know which NPCs are part of the story I planned and which ones are just random and they happen to show up more often...

His neighborhood generator SORT of works like that. But yeah a modern city generator would be pretty nice. And probably better than building a city in like Cities Skylines lmao
