Hey man! Being a beginner in this game is tough, but don't be too hard on yourself, the post game is the most difficult aspect of 2K - especially with how close the defense is to you. I wouldn't try some of the more advanced combos yet until you nail the beginner moves. I'd focus on doing the following: 1. Understand how strength, and speed work to your favor in a post up situation. Moves I'd start mastering: - Aggressive backdown (Holding L2 + R2 + Left stick towards the basket) and if you get a bump that generates space, go into a hook shot or fadeaway. - if you're a faster post player, shimmy to any of your shoulders, then rotate the RS and spin the opposite direction to counter while holding the LS towards the direction of your launch. If you're successful and don't get bumped, finish. - Post drive (L2 + R2 + LS towards the basket) then immediately post fade Start with those basic moves and then build your skillset from there. Slowly expand your post game. This move is a comprehensive list of ALL the post moves in the game, and while it may be fun to do everything, and learn everything all at once, the right way to learn is start with the basic moves and expand from there. You can do it man! This took me YEARS of getting real good, I don't expect beginners to learn everything so quickly, but this gives you a framework of how to get better!
@Jack-qy5uv

@@KevinCruz016 I appreciate the quick and comprehensive answer but I just gave up. I’ve been trying for 20 minutes just to do the spin counter thing and I can’t do it. I swear I’m doing exactly what you’re doing in the video and it doesn’t do it. I feel like I wasted so much money on this game they made it so hard to score with the green or miss. I’m sorry I know I’m just a casual player whining but I can’t figure any of this out. It seems like the shot stick has a mind of its own and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks for trying but I’m beyond saving.

I can do all these moves. However, I cannot use them on anything higher than All-Star difficulty. Superstar and HOF is a nothing but a wall. Even if I do get a sliver of space, it is impossible to hit a shot with any % of contest on these difficulties. If there is 5% contest you have a very low chance to make the shot. If it's 50% or more, you have a ZERO precent chance to make it. This totally ruins the realism. I've never played, or seen a basketball game being played where someone had a zero % chance to make a shot because someone was standing beside them with a hand up.
@KevinCruz016

I have to admit, these moves on HOF, you gotta be using someone with insane stats and badges. But at least for post fades and post spins on big guards, I have no problem in HOF. It’s the low post close shot stuff that’s a bit tough. Got to use more footwork, fakes, and layers of moves is my advice!
@lostdr34ms63

That is sorta true, depending on what mode you play, it really depends on how your player is / plays. For example mycareer, you need that post Fade on at least 86 with badges that help, having a 76 post Fade and hoping for the best will get you checked a lot. In my team that matters to but the badges play a bigger part imo

It’s the same concept in real life bro, you have to fake people out to lose them in the post
