Robert Cobert's "DARK SHADOWS" music is extremely impressive! the "Blue Whale" instrumental numbers are well played, almost sounding like something The Ventures would preform, but being that this was 1966,music back then had great taste-as was this TV series, which 50 years later,is still a strong and superior classic, since there is nothing like this on Primetime anymore, going some 25 years back, when the NBC version was running!

Finally finished binge watching all the Dark Shadows shows. It really is a bummer that Burke Devlin could not remain on board. I understand why he had to leave after I read up on that too, but still it left a big hole when he left. Same for Joel Crothers. RIP to the both of them.

It's nice to know that Collinsport had at least some normal social life in it. The Blue Whale was a welcome relief. In the last year of the show the writers seemed to forget about it. And all we got was constant thunder and lightning over Collinwood.

Burke and Joe do actually fight at one point don't they? In Burke's hotel room I think? Or perhaps at Collinwood... I don't think it was the Blue Whale, which is a shame it's the perfect kind of tavern for a Bar Room brawl. Maybe my memory is deceiving me but I was sure they actually came to blows around the time Laura "the Phoenix" Collins came back to the Collinsport. It couldn't have been much latter as I recall them being pals by the time Barnabas showed up.

Carolyn n Burke were the best looking and the coolest. Should have kept them as a couple. Joe was perfect with Maggie. They had more in common. Burke started liking Vicky. Carolyn found goofy Buzz to party with. What a cool show. I liked the beginning a lot better. I was in 5th grade. The first ghost story with Bill Malloy and Josette’s ghost saving Vicky was cool. Then the Phoenix and Jason blackmailing Elizabeth. Then it took off in a different direction and I hit Jr High. Missed a lot. The movie in 1970 was awesome. By then starting high school we got all into the show. Then it got canceled in 10th grade. Real drag.
