Not on avgas for anyone curious outside the US. Its 100 octane ll meaning low lead, so contains a little bit of lead actually. If you run it in a paramotor, every 25 or so hours you'll need to clean your head of lead deposits. There is however an additive called Declan, that will prevent these deposits. The benifit of avgas is it is super pure and very shelf stable.

Update on this. I have used Avgas in my Moster185 Plus since day one. 180 hours now with zero issues. Just took the head off for the first time and had minimal deposits that were easily cleaned off the head. Highly recommend Avgas if it is easy for you to get. I wasn't using Declan but may try it!

First of all I agree with everything you said. I’m a weekends pilot for 11 years. I started using avgas for almost 2 years and changed to premium gas and I didn’t have any problems. The reason I use premium gas is I think they are more monitored by the brands against mixes. Here in Brazil we have 27,5% of ethanol mixed to all of our gas (avgas is the only exception). I loved to know 1,5% of motul 800 is enough to have a good lubricantion. The only thing I’ve heard (but I don’t remember the source) is the synthetic oil starts to degrade its lubrication capacity as soon as it has been mixed to petroleum. That’s why If don’t use mixed fuel after 15 days normally I discard it. Thanks for the video.

In America I found that AvGas prevents the gas tank from turning yellow unlike regular car gas. I use SwiftFuel lead free avgas. I really like that one because I don't pollute the atmosphere with lead, it doesn't gunk up my engine with lead, it doesn't smell, and it seems to last for a long time.

Excellent and accurate info. I will add that he is in Europe and their fuel is RON Octane. USA uses an AKI formula of (RON+MON)/2 so when he States he uses premium 95, That would be like using 91OCT in the states. EU 97 is like our Sunoco 93/94 Octane. Compression is a factor for OCT requirements which helps avoid premature detonation. Avgas 100 LL works but I avoid it as its a waste of time to go get it and costs 2X more AND most importantly, deposits lead particles in the combustion chamber. One can see the buildup on a spark plug read after only 2 or 3 gallons of AVGAS. Only 1 good thing about AVGAS; its super stable shelf life over pump gas.

Thank you Miro, really nice video again! 🙏 I have used all the time alkylate gasoline in my moster, have you ever tried it? It is really pure gasoline. No odours in refill (or when you transporting your paramotor inside of your car) and no smelly exhaust gas 👍It burns cleanly and has a high octane number without any oxygenates. This gasoline has also very good storage stability, no risk that gasoline get old. Cheers 🍻

Of course there is Avgas in Europe. It is used for most Airplane Piston engines. It has a Higher Octane number of 100 and it is leaded. Because of it‘s high octane number it is more resistable to knocking while flying with a lean mixture at high altitudes.

IT works in my mowers and boat, etc over the winter months but I would never use it in premixed PPG gas. Like in the video, Always use fresh gas and mix it when you use it. Drain tank and run PPG carb dry for storage. I run the left over premix in my leaf blower so it don't go to waste.

I hate oil discussions as it’s all pointed at making the most money with no science. Iv no idea about paramotors as yet but speaking from experience of cars and motorcycles oil is the biggest con in the world. In regards to cars and bikes just use the spec recommended oil. I buy the cheapest Oil I can get with the recommended spec and guess what. No issues with my car. Oil makers always sell there oil with no science or proof. Just there word. When asked for proof none is given. Motorcycle oil costs 4x what car oil is and is always at the counter lined up so you carnt miss it. I’m guessing the same is happening with paramotors. Listening to this video is interesting because straight away they are saying that if you use there recommended oil you only need 1-1.5%. However use anyone else’s oil and you should use 2.5%. Well that works out to be almost double the cost. Good argument for selling a particular type of oil I would say. I would like to hear what other experienced people have to say. But just remember that just because someone says use this type cos we tested it doesn’t prove they actually tested it.

I agree to an extent on what you say. I can also say I have worked on all forms of 2 stroke engines over the last 30+ years and have seen the results of many different oils. My personal observation on the aftermath during rebuilds. Castor based, Petroleum based, Blends, and Full Synthetic. Power valve and Non. Marine, Aviation, RC, and Motorcycle (street and dirt 2T). Motul 800 and 710 are the highest quality and cleanest burning Synthetic oils available. Can you use Walmart's "cheap" Supertech weed eater 2T oil flying 8k RPM at 5000 FT? Sure can. But When it comes time to do your 100 hr top end, don't be surprised at the complete mess you find.

There is a lot of science when it comes to oil types and the proper oil for certain application. You talk about oil for cars and motorcycles which is different than ppg motors. Ppg motors use premix oil in the fuel for lubrication. In the video he said use 1.5% ration of motul 800 and 2.5% for motul 710. They are different oil of the same manufacturer but different characteristics such as flash point, detergents, viscosity etc. referring to your comment about how expensive motorcycle oil is compared to a car, those engines are very different. Motorcycles generally have shorter piston stroke and operate at much higher rpm’s so you need your lubricant to have properties that allow it to function properly in those conditions. Regular “car” oil would most definitely work but in the long term you would see less than ideal results.
