This is honestly the most detailed and thorough review I've seen of the Apparat. Thank you for taking the time to make such a high quality video. Well done and those are some awesome shots!

Great review as always and love your images. I completely agree regarding the film rewind mechanism, it's awful and I am thinking it may break sometime soon due to the force exerted to make it turn. This has to be a manufacturing defect, never used a film camera that did not have a release button at the bottom of the body that's activated before turning the film rewind lever!
@Bonsees
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I was wondering about why there isn’t a rewind button too, I tried activating the MX switch but that didn’t do much 😂 Now I’m wondering if it could potentially rip a film’s sprocket holes

Perfect video, like always.🖖🏻 Certainly an interesting camera, but not sure, if I would use it on a party. On parties, I more tend to chat and have fun than dealing with photographical experiments.😜 But basically, those simple cameras are the way to go. I still want good shots after 10 beers … hahaha …

Hey, I’ve watched every single one of your reusable film camera videos and they’re all very informative! I’m turning 25 in a couple of weeks and I want to take a reusable film camera with me to the club, I’m stuck on which one would be best, with being in such dark lighting, what camera would you recommend the best that will give me sharp enough images but still have that disposable camera effect? This Lomo apparat has too many features and gimmicks and I’ve never owned a camera before so I’m looking for something extremely simple but effective. I love your videos! Thank you so much for your response in advance! X

Hey 👋🏼 if you want something more barebones, you can check out something like the Kodak i60 or AgfaPhoto reusable camera (you really just need one with flash). There's also the Harman EZ35 that has an auto film winder but its lens is still pretty much the same as with the reusables. You could also checkout some point and shoots like a Canon SureShot or Fuji Auto7 (my fav cheap-ish point and shoot). These point and shoots will have a wider aperture (around 2.8 to 4) which will let a lot more light in compared to the reusable film cameras, so they'll be better for dark spaces, but I've seen some folks use reusable cameras at concerts with good enough results. Hope this helps and enjoy your 25th! 🎉🎉🎉

thanks for the review! really like the looks of this lomo. and that iko camera is just a rebranded EasyPix35 Lol

Yeah, I had to get the Neubau edition for sure 😂 and yeah, a lot of these reusable cameras are rebranded versions, but the IKO is rebranded by people I know, so it gets brownie points haha 😝

Hey, Im not sure if i should get the LomoApparat or the Kodak Ektar H35, what advice would you give on that? thank you
@Bonsees
Жыл бұрын
There’s the H35N now 😂 I’d say get the LomoApparat if you want full-frame + more creative features If you’re ok with half-frame and prefer more pics per roll, get the H35N (it has some creative features too)

I just found your channel and I'm obsessed!! I've been wanting a film camera for a while now but I'm stuck between this one, the reto ultra wise and slim, and the kodak ektar h35... As for my first film camera, which would you recommend?!
@Bonsees
Жыл бұрын
They're all a bit different. The Kodak H35 takes half-frame photos so you'll get around 72 shots when using a 36-exposire film roll. The Reto Ultra-wide has a wide angle lens and is the smallest of the bunch, but it doesn't have a flash so if you're planning on using the camera in-doors, I suggest getting something else. The LomoApparat also has a wide angle lens, a flash, and all the fun gimmicks haha but I think it's the most expensive out of the three.

Mine is arriving tomorrow, one worry tho, how do you acually compose a pictyure when using the splitzer that blocks the viewfinder?
@Bonsees
Жыл бұрын
Nice! I hope you enjoy it. As for the splitzer, it’s a lot of guess work… honestly, I’m still not that confident with composing with the splitzer. I just try to imagine what the view is if I point the camera at a certain direction, and think what will be covered or not
@hendrapurbaya6778

@@Bonsees btw, is there any parallax error between the lens's distance in relation to the viewfinder?

This one looks really cool and I like the Normal/Bulb functions but all the other nifty features (which makeup the price difference vs other similar products) I feel are unnecessary/intimidating for a simple/beginner user. 😮

Interesting, I guess they can be intimidating. Though besides the splitzer, I think the accessories are quite easy to use

If it doesn’t have a dial for ISO and no DX reader , how does it even know how to calculate the correct exposure? Or maybe it has a DX reader ?
@Bonsees
10 ай бұрын
It doesn’t calculate the correct exposure. It has a fix aperture and shutter speed (unless you use bulb mode) so you choose the film with the correct ISO to use for what you wanna expose for (e.g., use a film like Kodak Ektar 100 in bright sunshine, or use Lomography 800 for low light)

It's a premium reusable camera. I like the looks and the fact that it has lens cover. But the price in my country is outrageous. I can get a much nicer camera in that price range
