How well does it do sitting out, like if it were made up for a party? Also how long would it last in the fridge and does it taste better after it's set a day?
@WholeFoodFun
7 жыл бұрын
Yea these types of recipes usually taste better after a day in the fridge. All the flavours come out and blend together. Thats my guess for this recipe. Looks delicious!

Sarah McCalmon sometimes raw onion becomes really overpowering after sitting in the fridge... I have that issue with my pico de gallo. I would serve it immediately to be safe.

miajiayou haha, I like my pico after a day in the fridge. I use sweet onions though so maybe that's the difference. I'm not sure anyone except my dad would want fresh raw onion dip like this so I was hoping to hear that a day in the fridge not only would meddle the flavors better but soften the onions as well.

Caramelized?
@missgreece91
7 жыл бұрын
ya what happend to the caramlized part?
@jasmineleigh5359
7 жыл бұрын
To get the onion carmelized before adding it to the end product, just soak the onion in shoyu, or braggs liquid aminos, or coconut aminos and dehydrate them for a few hours. You will have carmelized onion.
@crosswind76
7 жыл бұрын
soaking in liquids like that would technically be considered "marinated". Caramelized is sauteed in some oil like EVOO, which is yummy too. Just Fyi. Maybe she has a recipe somewhere she calls it caramelized in her own way.
@jasmineleigh5359
7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the technicality crosswind76, but she is asking about a raw recipe and a sauteed item is not raw. So I offered her a way to do a raw caramelization.
@taunyamorson-peuplie6370
7 жыл бұрын
crosswind76 actually it's technically butter that dose that not evoo but that is not vegan or raw like people said in other comments but other tricks are great too so do what works for you as you nameste I once used coconut butter and a crock pot to make a ton of half cooked vegan caramelized opinions I've used Almond milk dark chocolate flavor to cook up hot gluten free outs for a family holiday cause I'm the only vegan in the family so there are great switchable ways and can learn something new from each other

hi Kristina, love love your book and your videos!!! I have a question about juicing celery...if I'm doing it mostly for anti inflammatory purpose does it take away if I add blue berries or anything else? I am slowly getting into this again, as I used to juice 2 years ago. I'm on workman's comp for a knee injury and so I'm going at it slow because I'm moving around slowly! thank you for your journey and how you share with us! it's lovely to see young adults living such a healthy lifestyle all around. Two things on this recipe: 1. For anyone who makes this I suggest using 1/4 to 1/2 cup of lemon juice at the most. No more than that. I used a full 1 cup measurement as was stated in the video and it was way to acidic. Or if you don't want lemon juice, regular water or coconut water will work just fine. I also made this with roasted unsalted cashews and sunflower seeds. Much better and deeper flavor profile. 2. For nut allergy sufferers a base of chickpeas, cannelli or butter beans work great. Nuts are healthy but very fattening. Again keep the lemon juice to a minimum or "to taste". To get the best flavor make it up 24 hours ahead of time. This will allow the flavors to set up. My version I do has the base nut/bean ingredients, garlic powder, onion powder, 1 clove of chopped garlic and after it is pureed I add chopped shallots, parsley and cilantro.
