My company just lost one of its favorite people. It was an operation she didn't come out of. She was a little older lady with a huge personality. Real acerbic wit. Always quick with a great joke. She was loved. We need to all remember to live. Because sometimes it's a surprise when you're gone. Cheers! ✊

Thank you for your beautiful tribute to Jim.

What a lovely tribute to a friend. Matt, let me tell you, it really comes through that your words are straight from the heart. Well done and good job - I know it wasn't easy. So nice to know the full story about Jim and his collection. I now own a couple records from it thanks to TMR and I will keep Jim's memory alive by thinking about him every time I listen to his copy of AIC Jar of Flies - and I listen to that album A LOT. R.I.P. Jim, and thank you.

I’m really sorry for your loss. I could imagine that the opportunity to buy Jim’s records would’ve been kind of a bittersweet experience for you, without having the opportunity to meet him before he passed. At the very least you get to keep some of the records you treasure the most and have a tribute bin in his honour. Also having some money from the sales go to an animal shelter is a very honourable thing too. Beautiful tribute, RIP Jim.

Matt (and Jim)...this is a truly inspirational story. It's a bit weird since I'm not that old at 43, but still, occasionally I think about my records in the sense of - what's going to happen to them when I'm not here since I don't have an obvious heir. But this idea that records will and do outlive us, and that we're only keeping them for some time and they're not strictly tied to being "our posession"...and that you can pass them on to another person who will understand them and use them and enjoy them...that's a really nice thought and a really quite beautiful perspective. Cheers to both of you.

I lost my uncle 2 years ago and well he was one of my biggest supporters to my musical journey....the last thing to enter his grave was a cassette mixtape....he inspires me thru my music ands in everything i do i try to honor the good person he is.......spread that love and happiness music is the one thing that still connects us all no matter how divided the outside might be. They're never gone, may he rest in peace in Gods eternal Kingdom.... "My life may be short and soon ill be gone, but knowledge lives on and that is the power of flesh"- John Kevil of Warbringer (Divinity of Flesh) No matter if were not on this physical plane of existence the knowledge we pass down to others thru our love of music and Jim being a teacher is what sticks with us and inspires other people.

GI Sanders made a video not too long ago in the topic of "what we want to happen to our collection after we die". Strangely enough I can no longer find it - maybe he took it off youtube for one reason or another. One of the first comments under the video was from Jim. I was shocked to see the lawdood moniker and read what he wrote describing his situation, as I remembered him from your livestreams and how you were always so happy to greet him. It's so cool how his memory will live on in the pieces of his collection in many-many other collections. RIP Jim! And my condolences to his family and friends.

For those of you who don't know "out of state plates", check out 45 Sunblock segued into Maureen. That alone should make you want this album. This is like Bruce's 98 box set " tracks". You spend the whole experience wondering why these weren't on albums. I was an early Fountains fan, and I had all these on 7inch and UK CD singles back in the day, but spent 17 years wishing this CD collection would come on vinyl. I got Sky Full of Holes 2011 vinyl on clearance for $4 before the resurgence. It goes for slightly more now lol

It makes me sad to know that a lot of used vinyl I get, is because someone passed on. When thrifting, you can usually tell the difference between someone cleaning out the garage with unloved records they haven't played in decades versus pristine higher caliber stuff. I just got a ton of pristine promos at a thrift store, and I have the awful feeling that I benefited from this very situation. I feel it's better to go to a record nut like me, who has appreciation for it
