Toolless cylinder swap and adjustable spring tension is incredible.
@RobinVerhulstZ
8 ай бұрын
Not really a new feature (korth/manurhin did those decades ago) but certainly valuable and highly convenient imo the doubly adjustable spring tension is more valuable than the toolless cylinder swap outside of a couple of use cases (like when using big ISSF target grips that prevent case ejection or preventing the cylinder screw from walking) since adjusting mainspring and rebound spring weight on a normal S&W requires you to dissamble the gun and replace the springs and change them out until you find a set up that works (but might not work for certain primers) whereas the cylinder swap is still silly easy on a S&W style gun (like my MR-73) because you literally just unscrew ONE screw that isn't covered by anything
@frankmcdonnell7377

The new Diamondback has toolless cylinder removal, apples/oranges I know, but my point is there's no real reason why most revolvers can't have both those features, at a fraction of the cost.

Lot of ignorance on display regarding MIM manufacturing. There are tons of firearm applications where it shines far and beyond that of traditional forging and machining. The issue with MIM is failure due to poor quality control and protocols. However, once dialed in, MIM produces a part with consistent hardness and grain structure throughout. With the proper application, you can end up with a SUPERIOR part. MIM has its place and limitations as well.

Not sure whether channel owners even can delete comments. It might have nothing to do with TFB. Maybe you are just on KZitem's secret censorship shit list. I am. What it means is that your comments get automatically deleted when you use certain forbidden words or phrases. They don't tell you of course. I had to experiment to figure out why and how my comments kept vanishing. What got me on the list was that like 8 or so years ago, during the "Hashtag OscarsSoWhite" days, I made the mistake to ask why black Americans feel underrepresented in US media. To me as a European outsider, they seemed plenty represented. I never got an answer, but ever since that day, my comments kept vanishing seconds after I made them. Over time and with experimentation, I figured out that it was caused by using certain words. I figure a bunch of people must have reported me for "Hate Speech" or something like that, even though my "representation" question was genuinely curious, cordial and without hate or profanity. Of course they also don't tell you which words are forbidden and the list changes all the time. New words get put on, others get removed and later put on again. For example, for like 2 months in the beginning of the Corona Crisis, I wasn't even allowed to use the word "China" or "Chinese". As you can see, now I can use it again and it is like that with a bunch of other words. "Jewish" in constantly on and off again and whether I am allowed to use the word "black" and anything negative, like "crime" anywhere near each other, is a constant lottery. For years using a single "bad" word would get the comment deleted, but lately there seems to be a threshold, where I am allowed one or two, but not too many. For a while, maybe half a year or so 3 years ago, it was really bad. Back then they experimented with something new. Suddenly comments kept vanishing that had absolutely no remotely controversial words in them and sometimes it happened hours after I made the comment. Again, through experimentation I figured out that it was other people disliking my comments, which got them deleted. That wasn't easy to figure out, since KZitem doesn't show you the dislikes your comments get and at first I thought it was somebody at Google, or in some Indian call center, manually deleting my comments, but that wasn't what was going on. I ran experiments like for example saying harmless stuff that still was certain to get me dislikes/thumbs down, like for example saying "Anime is overrated" in the comments on some Weeb channel and then I said controversial stuff on right wing channels and it turned out the former ones vanished and the latter ones stayed up. Through further experimentation I found that if my comments got more dislikes than likes, even if it was just 1 single dislike more, they were deleted. That sucked and it was the first time that KZitem's censorship almost broke me. Any random idiot could just silence me with the click of a button, no matter how benign what I was saying was. For example, I had comments like "I didn't even know they made a sequel to that movie." disappear. Luckily they seem to have figured out that that was too much and they removed that secret "feature" again after half a year or so. Recently the censorship is rather tame, compared to other times. As I said, I'm even allowed to say some controversial stuff, as long as I don't overdo it. I guess I sound like a Stockholm Syndrome victim here, hehe. Of course it still sucks. They must have rolled out some new thing lately though and maybe things are worse than I know. It seems a lot of comments are invisible to me. It will say for example there are 5 replies to a comments (any comment, mine or other people's) and when I click on it, it only shows me maybe 2 or 3 out of those 5. I haven't figured out what experiments to run to get to the bottom of that and that might mean it is the most insidious form of censorship they came up with so far. Who knows how many of my comments are invisible to others, while still showing up normally to me.

James, at the last IWA you said you had a review copy but we never saw you post anything about it to my knowledge? Will we see a TFB review of these fine wheelguns in the near future?

So it has polygonal rifling. Are hardcast lead rounds safe to fire? If not that's probably the biggest letdown I've heard in a long time.

I'm not exactly sure why, but all the club30 tuned revolvers usually come with polygonal barrels, too. I suspect it's because of their 9x19 cross-compatibility or something? I always though polygonal barrels were just a practical thing for duty pistols because they're easier to clean and stuff. But for some reason all the club30 gun smiths seem to think that polygonal barrels are actually better for high-precision bulls eye guns, too.

@@maximilianmustermann5763yes it’s a German thing. It all started with Peter stahl pistols back in the 80ies

4k is very high, but id imagine import fees have an impact there. Trigger design is interesting. However be curious to see the other models reviewed on here. To be noted as having MIM parts or not. Id imagine its why revolvers made before MIM are valued.

Not paying 3600 euros for shit ! Better have roller bearings, titanium frame, chrome bores/satellite and impervious to freaking rust . Then you're in the $ 1800 range +- 400 bucks .

Beautiful gun, with a horrible price tag. $4k for a pistol.. not exactly a working man's price tag.

It's hard to chose between Spohr and Korth, but one thing is for sure: either way, the best revolvers money can buy are German made.

I just received my 286 competition last week . put an ultra dot lt on it ( old eyes ) the finest revolver i have ever owned. It puts my SW 686 to shame. Sighting it in at a small indoor range 20 yard max, it shot 1 inch group unsupported with cheep factory 38 sp ammo single action. Was shooting 3 inch groups in fast double action

No picatinny on the bottom and a typical S&W trigger. Not exciting, but cool.

Guys, I'm sure the precision is impressive, but what about the price?? As in Dollars? Also, accuracy and durability?? Sorry, watched the video until the end; as you said, this is for a niche market, to each their own? Thank for the info! Blsgs, gg

I'd be more interested in their pistols if they gave them the same love as their revolvers. The reptile trigger is top notch. The wooden grips, the main spring housing, grip safety just didn't harmonize. Be warned using the Configurator! It'll grasp your heart and wallet! But where is the Pistol Configurator? 404! If I had the options for their pistols, I'd be inclined to make it look less bland and buy one. Add some conversion slides for other calibers and I'm game. No double stacks sadly.
