I bought Tiago's book, watched a couple of his videos, and saw Ali Abdaal's videos; it all became too much to try and implement. After watching some of your videos Carter, and then watching your Notion Second Brain, this became a no-brainer. Such a great template with brilliant demonstration and explanation. I'm sold. Kerching, here's my $50! Template purchased. Great job 👍

I would love to purchase this timeplate, however it's just not affordable as a student. For US students, $50 is probably for most manageable. However, when you convert $50 to AUD as my example, $73 for a notion template is just ridiculous. I understand you made it and want to capitalize on it but I really suggest making it more affordable so more students can purchase it.
@ProductiveDude
Жыл бұрын
The template will only be going up in price from it's current price point. We're in the process of adding tons of useful features to help our customers plan and focus on getting important things done. However, I understand that students are in a particularly tough situation and so are some other countries because of currency issues. With that being said I will most definitely consider offering discounted pricing for these cases in the future. You can sign up for our email list at productivedude.com to stay updated with the template.

This is amazing, thank you! One of the best Notion videos here on KZitem for sure. However, I have a question. When you open the "add tasks" there is a small arrow saying "Add space". What is that? Not referring to the spaces, referring to the function itself. How did it get there and what's it used for?
@ProductiveDude

Adding a space is a relation property. It relates a task to a space. So that is there to allow me to link the task to a space. Thanks for the kind words 🙏

Great video and awesome template; just have a couple of questions: 1) If you import the template into Notion on your PC, it should also show up correctly on phone or Mac, right? (assuming so) 2) Is there a way to organize the "Spaces" into Folders to categorize? Or at least Alphabetize them?
@ProductiveDude
Жыл бұрын
1.) The template is best on PC, Mac, and Browser. However, it will work on the phone as well. The main feature that is nice to use on the phone is the capture feature. 2.) The spaces can be alphabetized by adding a 'sort' on that database and sorting by space title. You can make it ascending or descending.

Hey! Im looking at purchasing your template but had a few questions 1. Can we add sub areas to make our space more organised. For example, instead of having a seperate area for KZitem, instagram etc, could we have an area called social media, then sub areas of this? 2. Is it possible to add a resources area? Like for example, web articles, instagram posts, photos etc in addition to the notes area 3. Could we add a projects area? and if so how? 4. Will we get free updates if you ever decide to update this template? 5. Archives area?
@ProductiveDude
Жыл бұрын
1. Currently, no. 2. These sound like notes to me. 3. Projects are possible to add and I’m considering adding this. 4. Yes, people that buy now get any updates in the future emailed to them. 5. No archives area for anything with the exception of tasks. You can find the tasks archive in the “actions” page. You’ll be able to see all completed tasks.

Hey man! I LOVE this iteration of the Second Brain. But there's a few things that's holding me back from purchasing, for example why isn't the FULL para system integrated in there? I do enjoy the spaces however i personally would have general areas (Eg Business) divided up into many other areas, projects etc. I also don't see sections for goals (again divided up by areas, spaces and projects), journaling, notebooks and a habit tracker. Do you plan on adding these or will it just remain a task oriented second brain? Thanks so much and i look forward to your reply man!

Hey! Thank for this nice template. On larger areas such as academics, is there a way to organise the notes better?
@ProductiveDude
Жыл бұрын
The 2.0 version of the Productive Brain will have 3 levels of organization. Life Area -> Sub-Topic -> Note For example, with academics: University -> Statistics 2 -> Note For now, it's just spaces and notes within those spaces, so you could create a space called school and sub-items within that for classes if you wanted using Notions new sub-items feature. Check out my latest video to see how sub-items work: kzitem.info/news/bejne/o6ipq3l6aV98epw ... or just wait for Productive Brain 2.0! ;)

It’s too bad Tiago chose “Second Brain” as his metaphor. These systems are not brain-like. A brain is, after all, what you are trying to assist. Brains process information extremely well. They do not store and recall it all that well. You don’t need another brain, you need reliable, consistent storage. These systems allow you to capture, organize, and present your information. They are a method of harnessing the power of computers to allow you to corral the information you are exposed to on a daily basis. You edit the information, store it in the system, and what you build isn’t a 2nd brain, it’s a knowledge database. You are doing personal knowledge based engineering. In Artificial Intelligence, it could be said that you are building an expert system on yourself. First there is data. As you collect data, it is converted into information. Information is then converted into knowledge. Hence the idea of PKM or personal knowledge management. The closest thing to brain-like activity comes from the systems that allow you to access your knowledge through a network diagram. Systems like Obsidian and Roam Research. Others like Evernote and DevonThink are more like electronic filing cabinets. With the system you gather, classify, store, search, and retrieve knowledge. A database. Not a brain… but… that is changing. A.I. is coming to these system in a serious way.
