This will not fix your foot alignment. The issue is not dissimilar from poor back posture, in that it stems from not having a sufficient muscle base to support the arches of the foot, or simply not activating them when standing or walking. Good news is that it’s pretty simple to fix, just takes work and consistency, just like correcting back posture. The main problem is the anterior tibial muscle, which plays a major role in supporting the long arch of the foot. 👌
@buckbuckleyson2259

@jaeyd4

@@buckbuckleyson2259 thank you for taking the time to reply. I think there may be a slight misunderstanding though, posture is simply position in a physiological context. There is good posture and poor posture, referring to how close the position is to a physiological ideal for function of the structures at play. The components involved are bones as a foundation, ligaments as connections between bones and muscles/tendons which are responsible for tensioning the aforementioned correctly according to the task at hand to keep good posture. I’m quite aware of the physiology, anatomy and pathology of feet. I make orthopaedic insoles and also had flat feet and poor back posture myself. I no longer have flat feet, or poor back posture because I have trained the muscle groups that stabilise each and can activate the arches on my feet at will.

As much as I hate government regulation, I do wish shoe manufacturers had to stop making small shoe boxes, especially in kids shoes. If they couldn’t deform kids feet with small toe boxes for 10-15 years, the problem would solve itself because no young people would dare torture themselves as adults & begin deforming their feet then. The problem is our feet are already deformed by small toe boxes before we are old enough to remember what it was like to have healthy, wide feet.

Wide toebox shoes may help. Also, investigate PT exercises to stretch and strengthen the feet. Better musculature helps prevent injuries and pain associated with flatter feet.

Wide fit rugby boots feel like that for me & narrow ones give me bad support, totally agree. I do have high arches though just wide feet

Im a nurse on the floor and wear crocs for 13hrs up to 5 days a week!! I knew there was something to these babies. I wear the platform ones though. They have a little more narrow design around my arch

I got flat feet as well. World Industries or DCs are great as long as you get the correct size for your foot. My son is 12 and also has flat feet and currently he is "finding his own" and won't take advice. He likes puma brand shoes but I remember from when I was a teen that those tie if shoes are never comfortable

I got Flintstone feet too. Etnies fader is the only shoe I buy. Been wearing them about 20 years.

I switched over to vibrams and it has really changed my athleticism and ability to be on my feet for longer. I Also use those toe spacers and recommend them to my clients.
