Veteran player here and I can comfortbly solo skelefleets. Gonna info dump for ya. Firstly "hitboxes" or where you should aim. 6:02 anywhere in front of the ladder, (so to the right) will net you a shot that will be "below the water line". Anything to the left of that will be on the second deck and "above water". You generally want to aim at the front half until the skelle boat water is on the second deck. With the galleon you need to initially have your shots hit below the water line to have it on the bottom deck and this is quite hard at first and impoosible if too close. Once its on second deck then you can hit the boat anywhere. The reason you want to hit "below the water line" is because those hole will continously leak water. Unlike players, skeletons cannot bail out water meaning unless another player buckets for them, those boats have a "health bar" but only art of the ship at first will make the ship take health damage. This is where having a second crew member guard the "below the water line" holes until you hit the second decks on either boat.

Secondly where to aim: On skele sloops you want to hit the cannon skeleton. Keep hitting it and you will get a red X and should see the skele fragments of it dying. Keep hitting the same spot as the second gunner will take over almost immedatly (you can aim one or two shots at a different location, but return to hitting that spot). Keep it up and the second gunner will die. If you are unlucky a 3rd gunner will have spawned and make his way to the gun. However if your shots been on target the boat is likely on second deck water at this point so you can then spread shots out across the boat. If you get a red X and no skellie exploding, you have killed one of the repair skellies below. If you can achive this in close sucession of killing a gunner, you can spread shots out to the other parts of the boat that are currently below the water line. Boat damage has 3 tiers: small, medium and large. Each more water into the boat and each is increase with one cannon shot, but fully repaired with any one plank. Hitting a cannon shot will stun and reset the repair time of any skellie on that spot and one either side of it. So in the first example, as the cannon is next to the ladder, you normlly want to aim your first spread shot to the right of the cannon, that way you can prevent 2 slots of being repaired with your cannonballs. you can see if a hole is repaired if the hole on the skele boat disapears. If it has a hole there visually, the boat has physically somewhere on its nearest section.

Thirdly movement, you actually want to go at about 1/2 to 1/4 speed in a long straight line, if doing the raid, once you spawn in slowly sail to sea dogs rest [the big mountain]. The skele boat will move and keep pace, and if you going at roughly the right pace will stay almost in the same spot for you, making landing shots alot easier. Use this to land your gunner spot shots and front half of sloops. Or aim below the water line for galleons. If a skeleton boat sunndenly starts slowling down that means its on second deck. this is when you can hit the back of a sloop or the above water section of a galleon. Land a couple shots, slow your own sails at this point if needed and then keep shotting until it stops. If the boat looks like it sunnderlyy dropped anchor, turn your wheel around and raise sails. Park as close to the sinking wreck as possible and wait for the birds. This is where the loot will spawn. You generally want the wreck slightly ahead and to the side of your boat (in otherwords a nice spot for harpooning) to make loot collection easier. If you do it right, you will have a little wait for the next way. Use this time to firstly, move your boat to go back along the track you went (so mountain/rest behind) or continue on towards it. Then get the supply crate and dump it with or condense with your old one and finally move the loot if you keep it on the bow. Try not to do loot first as until you get good at this you may run out of time and your boat is either positioned badly or you havnt got the supplies again for the next boat.

Forth. The galleons. Extra section for this one on how to deal with it. At first they spawn too close, so you need to sail slightly away from it so the gap gets wider. Whilst moving away from the galleon, put 2 fire bomb shots onto the top deck. This will kill and prevent the gunner skeletons attacking you. This is helpful even if you have another crewmate thats boarded the vessel as it lets them concentrate on keeping the hoels open. Anyone whose boarded a hole should mainly focus on killing any skele repairing a hole thats always leaking water. To help on hitting those hard below line shots, aim for the part of the boat thats furthest away [normally the bow]. When galleon water hits the second deck it actually needs to go up a little bit before the upper holes continuously leak water. Once these are leaking the player should say "second deck leaking" or similar so the cannon player knows they can just hit the boat anywhere. Once a galleon is on second deck you should be able to sink it fast within 10 cannon balls or so. Galleons normally take me about 40 cannon balls to sink, but have done it in under 30 and its sunk [all shots landing under water line at first].

Fith, ship difficulty. The Fleet of Fortune galleon generally for me spawns as a higher teir npc so will fire all of its cannons more often and fire alot more of those pesky curse balls. However even on a normal fleet and a higher fleet these can be harder and are triggers when: you are a bigger crew, another crew[s] join the fight. If you notice the skeleton galleon shots are sunndenly never missing your boat or its firing alot more, you need to look out for another ship! The thing to note is when doing these fleets, whilst the ships can shoot other player ships as in the video, they will primarily focus on the one who spawned it. Normally you. A FoF galleon and a player ship is a hard/impossible task for most players and it is recommended you disengae from the fight entirly and let the galleon target the remaining player once you left and then return. This way the galleon will now focus them and you can help, reversing the previosu situation. The other option is to deal with the player boat outside of the event, then go back in to finish it. Your call on what you think it better. If you come across another boat thats fighting the fleet, you can abuse this above issue. Simply going into the "area" the fleet is fighting (so get the banner pop up that you are fighting the fleet and have the music play). If crews are not aware of your presense visually and do not know why a galleon will suddely get stronger, even the best sloop crews [especially solos] will struggle fighting the galleon in this form. You should normally just wait until they either sink to the galleon or wait and see if they take alot of shots in a short peroid then going in yourself and try and sink them. Its best to try and board them, drop anchor and simply prevent them from bucketing their boat. You dont need to kill them, because if you just sword blocking them or running about their boat will be filling up fast with water if they have below line shots, with more comming from the galleon. Half the time i just distract the crew and they forget to bucket and simply sink without me having to kill them. Once they do sink go back to your boat and move away and repair before going back and attacking the galleon yourself and claiming the reward!

Finally loot: if you are thinking the other player is coming back, from a fleet of fortune or raid, just grab the rare raid item or chest of fortune and just leave with it. Whilst the fleet entire loot does give alot, those 2 items in XP generlly count for nearly half of it. You can get all the normal loot from else where and other quests with ease, but those are either exclusive to the fortune events or the fleet raids. You might not have gotten all of it, but you at least got whats important. Being too greedy might mean you sink and lose the lot. Remember its not yours until you hand it in!

One tip I can give when a player invades/tries to take over your work: Get out of range of the skelly's and the player, BUT stay in range of the event. That way more skelly ships spawn making it harder for the invader to finish the event/more pressure applied. Then either take on the player and sink, or keep waiting. If waiting: Once the Captain wave has spawned: You won't get max level 5 for it, but for the chest to spawn, look at the captains of the galley's and find out which is the captain. If the skelly at the helm is named, drag them away from the other person, and sink them with this method as fast as possible. That way, while the invader is still on the other galley, you have time to get the Chest of Fortune/Any extra loot from it. After getting what you need **not what you want**, get out AND DO NOT STAY FOR MORE, because once the other galley is sunk, they'll know you have the main prize, and will give chase.

Got legend of the sea of thieves (500 skelly ships sunker after pirate legend) a little over a year ago as a solo slooper. Easiest strat is to go in a straight line through an open area in the fleet zone at full sail, this is so the skelly ships' ai doesn't go haywire and so you don't have to focus on avoiding obstacles, I like to sail on a line from reaper's hideout to dagger tooth. For sloops hammer them directly at the cannoneer and you'll sink it within about 17 shots (rapid succession). For the galleons alternate shots below the waterline and on their cannoneers so you don't get bombarded. Once you finish a lap, do a wide U turn outside of the zone and repair your ship, reenter the zone, rinse, repeat. If you don't know where the zone boundaries it is a circle with the NW corner at roughly I9 and the SE corner around K11.

what i do is raise the sails and the ships will circle you, so you turn your ship to match their turns and you can sink a gally in a minute or 2. and youll be right next to the loot once it pops up.

One tip I have is firebombs. Use them on the last wave to deal fire damage until the fire burns out which prevents repairs from being made on all levels. Also use Ballast Balls for a quicker sink if you can

One tip I haven't seen mentioned in your video or others like it works well for solo sloopers - Make sure you have a non-cannon rowboat attached. That way if you get sunk you still have a rowboat that the skellies will ignore and you if you get in the water in time, you can swim to the rowboat, time your course to board the skelly galleon and hopefully if it is still filling up keep the holes from being repaired. Don't die though. If the captain galley goes down and your sloop sinks, the rowboat then acts as a way to get the CoF to an outpost safely and discreetly.

One of my favorite methods is just getting a mix of stronghold kegs and athena kegs and just blow them all to kingdom come lol! One keg per ship is normally good, and by using the harpoon you can get an easy board. In all seriousness though, it can be risky, so having all of them in a rowboat is your best bet for quick deploys in emergency situations. Secondly, MAKE SURE YOUR SHIP IS FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE EXPLOSION SO IT DOESN"T BLOW OTHER THINGS UP. That is just tragedy waiting to happen lol.

I usually just firebomb the cannon line then go ham on the water line on the gally. On the sloop I alternate between the cannon line and the front and rear of the boat. I didn’t think about harpooning to keep them close.

If you’re doing it just for the chest of fortune u can just pick it up of the final ship it’s usually in the captain’s cabin

I actually didn't know that I though it had to sink the captain ship, This might be really useful if you just need to grab the chest and get out of there

I don’t use this strategy whenever I play with my cousin and we do this event we are done with each wave in about 30 seconds if it goes to plan the easiest wave is the gallion at the end I don’t know why but it keeps sinking after like 10-15 cannonballs.

Tbh the best way to do it is to get your sail half way and to a paralle this way you alway have angle on them and to get the loot is pretty easy since your not going too fast i did all my 30 chest of fortune like that as a solo and its faster that using the harpone since you constantly shooting them
@archpolecat5218

I totally agree that using the harpoon for solo would be almost pointless!
