@@ProjektTakuDisagree. Sideways getting a long running series would flush out his side characters and villains. Overexposure would be how DC push Punchline by having her pop-up in every Bat- related book and then giving her a one-shot then miniseries and so on.
@ProjektTaku

@@Harleyxjokerforever I'm not talking about overexposure of individual characters (although that was a problem in the 90s), what I mean was the sheer amount of individual comics for the most obscure characters, with leads to hundreds of unsold comics. Imo DC should've done this with Dawn of DC. Relaxed on the solo titles for the tried and true and establish a new Teen Titans run to go along with the Titans taking over. They could have focused on making it about giving some of the more recent new DC characters (especially those who haven't gotten a lot like Sideways) the spotlight along with helping to push the shift in era with the Titans taking over from the league. Of course we now know how temporary that was and that DC was never really committed to moving forward.

He was such a good character in the Teen Titans 2003(?) comic run, seeing him interact with characters like Ravager or Blue Beetle was so fun. Also Teen Titans being as dark as it is, it was really cool to see Eddie put himself into the role of comic relief to try to alleviate some pain on the team, attempting to be the glue to keep them together - despite his own feelings on the matter. I remember when the Sideways comic came out, seeing it and thinking, man this seems neat, but I want to wait for a bit more to come out before I dive in. DC only makes new characters for temporary hype and quick bucks with no intentions of committing to the new characters and making them last long and be loved. I think what comic book companies need to start doing when they have a character like this one that is objectively good is to push him/her into more mediums besides comics. Comic sales in general are down, even for well known heroes. You can’t really rely on comic sales alone to determine whether or not to abandon a character. Get these new characters in shows, movies, and video games, so more of the general public can know and love them. Characters like Miles Morales did decently in comics, but you can’t tell me he didn’t REALLY pop off with the public until he had Into The Spider-Verse. Majority of the audience had no idea who he was until that movie, now he’s a household name, especially with the new generation
