I bought the Mido Ocean Star 200C Light Gray Dial Version for $700 a few months ago. It is unbelievable value for money. I was blown away with the quality and attention to detail of the watch. It absolutely punches above it's weight especially when you factor the quality of the bracelet. I would even venture to say it's close to if not on par (quality control wise) with my Tudor BB 58.

I just started my journey in watches and I brought my old Citizen Promaster Dive 200 to service because it was not running. It’s a gift by my granny for when I finished middle school (early 2000s). If that watch is going to work I’m going to keep it until I can afford a more serious diver. But now, since I started to delve into this artwork and learn how they work, I find myself longing for an affordable automatic dive watch I can wear every single day. Perhaps a Seiko (for his history) or a Citizen. Once I save a little money I would love to buy a Mido Dive watch and then my ultimate goal will be a black submariner. I already know this newly found passion is going to last until my last day on earth. Thanks for the informative videos.

Love your reviews, Teddy. Mido is criminally underrated and the lack of marketing of this fantastic brand by the Swatch Group is disgraceful. You are absolutely spot-on regarding their powermatic 80 based offerings being very accurate and well regulated. I have the non-COSC certified blue Multifort power reserve running at +2 secs/day. I am so impressed I ordered another Multifort (the lighter coloured chronometer with gold PVD case and brown leather strap). There are a lot of Swatch haters out there who are pretty ignorant of how good the ETA Powermatic 80 movement actually is, many seem to think a movement running at 3 Hz is less accurate than one running at 4 Hz judging by some of the comments on reviews of various Swatch Group offerings. This is utter nonsense. The watch reviewed today looks great, however if you have slightly smaller wrists some of their 40mm Commander Chronometer models may be a better fit, although they are a little more expensive. There is a ton of gold in the Mido range if you look. Keep up the great work!!!!

Most of my adult life I lived with 4 watches: an Omega Seamaster 60, a Seamaster Deville, a Rolex Datejust and a Sea-Dweller . After 2 years with the Ocean Star 200C Titanium I can say it is my favourite daily wearer.Very comfortable, COSC or better accuracy, day and date complication , very legible with effective anti reflection coating, quality finishes. The polished titanium is light, scratch resistant and has a warm lustre. The 42.5mm Mido looks huge compared to my Sea-Dweller 16660 witch measures 39.5mm and has a wider bezel but it is lighter and more comfortable to wear with it's narrower case. The watch would look better on my 7'' wrist if it were available in 40-41mm with a 20mm lug width.

I bought one at Jared's for 453 a few weeks ago. An absolute steal since it was on clearance. It is the black model, but it is still beautiful! Would not have been upset if I had paid retail. I really think someone at Jared's really screwed up when they put this watch on clearance! My only real gripe with the watch is the crown! It is most definitely not easy to screw down. I know it is polished to have it stand out, but they definitely could have gone with a larger crown and more space crowned guards imo.

Does the watch comes with full packaging and official warranty card? 3. Is it completely new and officially stamped? 4. Since I’m not familiar with this website, is the company JARED’S big and credible? I’m co concerned because it’s a great watch, and can’t believe the clearance at JARED’S.

Apologies for the long post, it just went on. Another great video Teddy. Mido as a brand has yet to make it onto my list but this model maybe would have been had I not already have a few dive watches. Likes: - I love the dial, applies markers and hands - We still have a lume plot at 3 as well as the day and date, usually I'm not a fan of day/date as 3 but this one works far better than most. maybe the back ground colour could have been dial matched with white letters and numbers but that is a very minor niggle - Orange tip on the second hand adds a splash of colour as does the red 'Caliber 80' dial text. - That bracelet with on the fly extension Could do better: - Use female end links to reduce the effective wing span - Grip of the bezel looked like it could be improved as it looked like it was a tad difficult to use in the video - I would have preferred an exhibition case back - Personally I prefer a ceramic bezel insert although this one does look like it was executed very well indeed. The competition: - The nearest I have to this watch is the Tissot Seastar black dial that is some years old that from my view has a better 120 click bezel with ceramic insert and a discreet date at 6 colour matched to the dial. The bracelet on the MIdo is far superior though. My Saestar is not within COSC limits (after all it is not COSC certified) but is still within single digits seconds per day consistently. I would guess MIdo should be better although they share similar laser adjusted base movements during manufacture. Final thoughts: - If I didn't have my Tissot I would seriously consider the MIdo Ocean Star as that bracelet is fantastic for the price with a great watch head. I would need to try the bezel action first though.

Small nit-pick, but I want to see the WR on the dial. Even though I will probably never dive with this watch (I am certified), I have a little rule that I don't want to own a desk diver which I consider to be any dive watch that does not least spec WR at 200m. I have to admit after someone replied about this on one of my comments on Instagram I have to admit I put it on my wish list.
