Superior pipes and cables are also super useful because they let you build pipes and cables instantly and don't require maintenance.

My game I didn't get Superior pipes and cables nor extractor AI and Service AI.... :( I have the science wonder telescope thing so I have all the breakthroughs reveled in my game.

55 breakthrough techs, and you can only get 13 of them per map.

Arcanum Elite I don’t think so but it might. Because I do believe every map has 6 or 7 breakthroughs, meaning the magnifying glasses.

They're pretty good, but they are pretty expensive and the automated rare metals one isn't worth the machine parts its freaking made of. 1 prod a day are you serious?

i cant imagine they do... as you never lose money paying them... nor do you get money when they buy things from electronic/art stores... so honestly i have no idea how that even works.

Some more great breakthroughs, there is one that allows your mines and extractors to work even when the resource is depleted. This is the reason why I have 50k concrete and 20k metal piles up in a game. Another is Fusion AI. Allows you to run the fusion power plants remotely without workers. Another one dramaticlly decreases the build cost for domes. Both breakthroughs.

Fusion power isn't really neccessary. It's a lot easier to just build wind turbines and solar panels for a fraction of the cost. They only require metal (or machine parts created from metal) to maintain.

I think one of the best breakthrough I got was the eternal fusion where fusion reactors don't need workers and operate at 300 performance. That one tech practically boosted by game by allowing me to rely solely on fusion power by building them within a dome so they don't get dusty often.

While Extractor AI is nice, I only really like it because it allows for a more compact colony without needing to spread out domes. In my recent playthrough, I didnt get it, and had my domes spread over half the map. And oh boy, these shuttles are HORRIBLE at balancing out food distribution. 300 stored at one dome, the next is starving. And none of my 20 shuttles gives a damn until its 30+ people that are starving, at which point one gets going and delivers one batch of food. I dont usually get a deficit of workers in the lategame, quite the opposite, I get too many and run out of jobs for them. I hope we get some AI improvements or a way to manually set up a working logistics network (Maybe even with a specific Logistic Depot, and you could specify your shuttles to make sure there is always 20+ food in it) As it is right now, large, spread out colonies are a pain to keep running.

One of the better breakthroughs i got was giant crops.. which allows you to have giant versions of the base crop for wayy better yields.. making food a non-issue.. another is construction nanites... which allows buildings to build themselves without drones as long as resources are within range... very interesting.

Arcanum Elite giant crops is a terrible breakthrough mate one farm wit cover crops and a high yield food provides enough doors for two domes with 48 people in each

Yeah, absolutely vital... but you have to get the breakthrough. Nice to know it's there. As a new player (I've had the game for about 10 days), I thank you. I keep screwing the pooch and restarting the same map. But I learn more every time I play.

'Best Tech'... but you don't always have access to these various tech upgrades. I have played through 4 games to 1000+ colonists and only seen Extractor AI once and never Service Bots. That's some shite game design.

I just finished a game with the breakthrough for extractors not needing workers AND extractors still extracting from depleted deposits. Infinite resources rather early on.

@ASpec You forget to add the second best tech, that is that if the recurce is depleted the recurce extractors continue to work in lower capassity, meaning true unlimited production.

I think scrubbers are the best if you put within distance of each other they clean one another and no out door buildings will ever need maintenance
