You should show a real time dipping the wrapper. Everyone has issues with this step the first time. It's deceptively easy... yet it's super easy to ruin the wrapper.
@idklol8893
2 жыл бұрын
you have to dip the wrapper in the water once, it will get softer when you add in the ingredients, if you wet it too much the wrapper will become soft. It's not a hard thing to do

What is the difference between soaking in cold water vs warm water? I've seen different people stress the importance of the temperature but, they all had different instructions as well.
@bbnroccstvr.4324
2 жыл бұрын
it effects the texture (at least from what i experienced). Warm water gives a more opaque, somewhat sticky texture, allowing the roll to stay closed. cold water makes it really clear and more prone to tears. also, it isn't as sticky, so it might fall apart.
@saltee7
2 жыл бұрын
My mom who makes spring rolls all the time always told me to use warm water for it. It makes it stick better to itself, and give the rice paper a chewier texture. So imo I think warm water definitely makes the roll better as a whole.
@sammysorad
2 жыл бұрын
I’ve done it with warm and cold water (because my warm water would cool down, lmao) and it works just fine. As one of the other comments said regarding tearing and cold water, you should be fine if you don’t over stuff your spring rolls. I don’t see it as there being a right and a wrong way to do it. Just do whatever you like best!

The peanut sauce with hoisin is 100% homemade. It's easy to make by just boiling hoisin sauce and peanut butter together with a bit of water, unless of course you like it chunky. I have an uncle who likes his sauce thick and chunky so he will use the thicker peanut butter.
