What’s your favorite to-do list app? And which app(s) do you think should be on my list?

I still prefer the simplicity of Things 3, while there are some annoying limitations, the "get out of your way" approach nudges it just ahead of other (also great) apps like Todoist in my book.

Sadly I need to use various of apps: Things 3 for all my personal todos. Tody for tracking chores. Streaks for habit tracking. Anylist for shopping lists, wish lists, that need to be shared.

It's great to see a new video by you evaluating to-do list apps. I always enjoy hearing your views, and I've benefited from your courses. Currently I'm using Amazing Marvin. There is only one reason I'm using it over Things 3; it supports dividing the day into sections. I feel the way I want do divide my tasks into areas and projects (Work, Health, Personal, and so on) should be independent of how I divide my day (tasks that need to be done in the morning before I go to work, short tasks that must not be overlooked, etc.) Having to use one categorization system to do both, feels awkward, in the same way using to do lists that don't distinguish between start dates and due dates feels. Things 3 has a tiny bit of this feature, allowing tasks to be allocated to the "Evening." If they were to allow custom sections in Things 4, I'd certainly go back to it. Do you happen to know of any other to do list managers that allow one to divide up the day in this way?

Thank you for this clear review of the various apps. I've spent about 2 hours going through compares and found this. It confirmed a couple of things for me. Again, thank you!!

Notion seems like an odd choice to include here while excluding the 2-in-1 options Eg: Motion, Akiflow, Morgen etc... I am curious why? Pure curiosity 😁

Just started test-driving Akiflow for the first time this week. Who knows, maybe it’ll be on the list next time. I try to actually use apps thoroughly before considering them for inclusion.

@@PeterAkkies I am a long time todoist user moved to tick tick and will at least for now have no plans to go back, The features that are way nicer compared to the competition : Calender view, start and end date , pinning the task, very nice widgets, interactive subtasks in apple watch ... and the list goes on.

TickTick have some interesting details from years that Todoist never had yet, like won’t do task, like things or drop like omnifocus, repetition for date(Todoist is terrible if you forget to complete the task the are due), have both real subtask collapsible in today upcoming and calendar view and checklist, they have a perfect MD good web clipper for Mac, the Mac app is really solid the app for iOS little bit less why people still prefer Todoist . And the real problem, they basically need 2 things: - schedule start date - full black oled theme Also have great note, and open take and note as style note for little drafts in desktop version, multiple allarms, location, priority, free web access full watch access(setting from iPhone any list you want) habit track inside(let’s hope they add duration for time block for this too)habits and task metrix, templates , Is fast enough open and sync so I can say it’s very good.

I somehow can’t find what I really need, An robust app easy for beginners and gets more use when you learn more, In which I’m able to share them for other friends, whom are trying a to do list for the first time, to add on their personal lists. And be able to download attachments. A necessity is to attach some specific PDFs to a specific card and specific checklists. So here is what I’m doing I’m studying for final rerun due the next 40 days. - 3 modules, each have a theoretical and practical exams. - Both exams are on the same day. - Both have curriculum selections. - Theoretical exam has MCQs section and written section. With their selections and pdfs - Practical, ditto.

10:35 Microsoft To Do actually DOES have Calendar integration and time blocking. It has for a long time now. In Outlook, when you click the To Do pane, it allows to drag tasks onto the Calendar and block out time. Also, the point you said about you don't like the 'new task' line being automatically selected, it only does that for EMPTY lists. If you go to a folder with tasks in it, nothing is pre-selected as you wished.

I think the requirement is technically that you can run macOS Ventura, but effectively for you the result might be the same.
