I watched your original video on KZitem regarding this product and purchased it. 100% the best head tracking hardware I’ve ever used.

Thanks for the review in this. I ordered one and I love it. It is so much nicer than what came with my TrackIR 5. It is larger than I thought it would be but has little to no weight to it. My favorite thing (other than the accuracy), is it being wireless. I use it with my wireless headphones and it eliminates those annoying cords that seem to catch on every little thing. Thanks again.

I purchased the smaller RJS headset, and I love it. I also upgraded from TRackIR 4 to 5, and with both upgrades the difference between now and then is amazing.

I printed out my own ir clip and molded the PlayStation eye cam. It's buttery smooth with free track. It feels as good as my old track ir 5. AA batteries don't last long though. I like this one with lithium iron cell and inbuilt charging..I'm temted

So, lemme get this straight. This RJSim headset is to replace the TrackIR-5 headset, right? I still rely on the TrackIR software for interaction, right? I'm right now using the Tobii Eyetracker and I'm finding it almost impossible to interact with the cockpit with. Its a problem I never had with TrackIR-5 (i think) so now I limit its use to takeoff and landings. Though I enjoy the fact that i dont have things to connect to my head, I ran into a problem no one has mentioned yet and that is the Tobii detecting other eyes around me. Sounds spooky, eh? Lol! Well, very often while flying, I have friends or family peering over my shoulders and the first time that happened, the whole thing went haywire. That happens to be something thats unheard of with TIR-5, so I'm interested in your gadget here but I need the clarifications set out above.

Alright, I finally have this on my headset. It took nearly a month but it's not like it comes from a big manufacturer. Not crazy about the turnaround time, but I'll tell ya I agree. This thing is legit. Goodbye flimsy ass trackir wire hello wireless. I dont necessarily get more range out of it, but that's my setup not the device. If ya like head tracking, it's a top tier add on. Thanks for the discount code.

I Went With AimXY. I Didn't Like The Fact That As Your Headset Moved Around So Did The Tracker. But The Big Buzzkill Was That I Was Unable To Find Any Info As To How To "Dial It In". The Most I Got Was "You Have To Play With The Curve"!! Like You Mentioned, The Pro-Clip Is Cheaply Made. This Would Have Been The Fix. If I Find The Info I Need, I'd Get This And Give It Another Chance.

@adrianosalomon1447 that will still work for sure. I actually use a VERY old PS3 Eye Camera. They're hard to find now and you have to remove the IR filter from it and then add some sort of tint but I've had it for years now

I was looking for something better than my track clip I have been using for longest which has no LED lights and so when you get near the edges you can see the sensor loss and than the erratic head movements begin. The trackir clip PRO model saves you $25 dollars but has 2 glaring negatives. First is the flimsy build where mine broke day 2 from a simple drop. Negative 2 is flush LEDs so that light is only seen when straight on. So yeah this is one great Trackir device to improve the function of the trackir sensor and the other is the monkey puck. Both are excellent buys. Why is it that trackir doesn't improve its PRO model....sales baby! If your not scouring the internet you would not even know this or the monkey puck even exists. So made of the most fragile plastic is a genius marketing strategy! if anything I would think this might be slightly better than the monkey puck. When I just now first saw this I was taken by how long the lower light extends but on thinking about it this probably cures one other quirk I hate....the difference when looking up compared to down. The extra length will probably cure this as it moves further distance when looking down than when looking up as its desgined with the lower rod length to be way longer.

I still fail to see the point of these. Either A) You're using a VR headset, which has it's own tracking, and as you move your head it changes your pov to match. So there's no need for this. or B) You have one monitor, and if you turn your head the pov locked at the center of that monitor moves ... but you've turned your head so you're not looking at that monitor anymore C) Same story but with 3 monitors, you turn your head to look at the monitor on the left, and the view moves with your head, overcompensating. What benefit could these possibly provide, unless you WANT to strain the ever loving shit out of your eyes having to turn your head one way and look the other?
@SkyborneVisions

The software exaggerates your head movement so you can still look at your monitor while virtually looking backwards in the sim.
@tver
Жыл бұрын
You use an axis curve that exaggerates the in-game head movement vs your real head movement. i.e. 30deg of head movement translates to (near) 180deg in-game movement. Pointing your head at the edge of the monitor/TV would result in looking over the shoulder in-game. Works a lot more intuitive than it may sound and you easily adjust to it. And like with joysticks and other axis inputs, you can modify curves and deadzones to modify the sensitivity and behaviour per axis, or even per direction (left, right, up, down). The current benefit of headtracking vs VR is that the former requires a less beefy PC, plus works better with a mixed reality simpit if you use tablets and/or streamdecks in your setup.

>>>> "What benefit could these possibly provide..." Without repeating what others have already mentioned, here are some more benefits: TrackIR gives you a full 6 degrees of freedom, which means you can not only scroll the view left and right simply by turning your head side-to-side, but in a similar manner, you can also scroll the view _vertically_ by tilting your head up or down. This is handy for looking at things lower on the instrument panel or even on the floor (like a Johnston-bar flap-handle or fuel selector) or looking at things above you like an overhead switch panel. Another thing TrackIR will let you do is lean forward which will zoom the display so you can get a closer look at your instrument panel when desired, for example, when tuning radios or setting the altimeter - _very_ handy! Also... TrackIR lets you _shift_ your head from side-to-side (not rotate) which comes in handy when you need to peek around an obstruction, say a wing strut or window frame or whatever! Works the same as in real life - if a post is blocking your view, just step to the side and you can see around it. TrackIR works just like that! Out of all of the people I've had up here to check out my sim pit and specifically TrackIR, only ONE person was unable to get the hang of it! Everyone else took to it like a duck takes to water with virtually NO learning curve! Comments I usually hear are things like, "Wow this is great, I gotta get me one of these!"

@@TheLukemcdaniel Well, I guess the thing **you** need to do is get with someone who has a TrackIR so you can try it out for yourself and see _firsthand_ if it's 'snake oil' or not. There's simply NO WAY one can 'imagine' what using TrackIR like, which is why I invited all those people up here to try it. And as it turned out, TrackIR was NOT what _they_ had imagined! Furthermore... There are tens of thousands, if not _hundreds_ of thousands of people using TrackIR, including a lot of competitive gamers! So just a casual observation should tell you that there _has_ to be something _more_ to it than just 'snake oil', right? That's _right!_ ;-)
