I wondered the same from the start of the video: how much electricity does this collection cost? Recreating a desert climate isn’t cheap, and I think this is the reason why uromastix haven’t taken off as bearded dragons did. Uromastix resemble something between a desert iguana and a tuatara. My favorite was the bandit though.

One of my friends was looking into getting a pet reptile.. And he said he wanted something vegetarian and unique. I suggested a uromastyx as they are similar in care to a bearded dragon but with much higher temperatures and a few other changes. I showed him the care for them and how they live in the wild. He fell in love with them as he said they're perfect for his lifestyle. He also loves growing succulents and cactus and is a vegetarian himself. Growing up my fascination with dinosaurs is in fact what ignited my passion for reptiles. My first encounter with a Uromastyx was back in 2003 while I was in Kuwait. I had no idea what it was at the time but I can say it was really defensive. I didn’t even have to get real close to it and I was a little intimidated. I was also caught off guard but still. They are pretty fast too. It stood around just long enough for me to get a good look and was out. I love the look of these guys and this breeder sure has some real nice ones. I have not seen many since my first encounter. Usually just wild caught for sale on morph market or other sources but it’s nice to see how chill some of these Uros are. Gorgeous too.

I WANT A YELLOW ONE! Sorry, didn’t mean to yell! But I really want a yellow one! While I was watching/listening to this, I was measuring to see where I could fit another enclosure. I have a 9’x8’ room. There are 2 bearded dragons, a ball python in a large tub, a western hognose in a 5 gallon and a 21 year old African red bellied parrot in her cage. Plus a rocker recliner for mommy. We’ll see what we can stack!

Hello! What are those orange pellets that you feed your Uromastyx? Thank you.

They are dry red lentils, you can feed them to adult Uromastyx as a treat.

All of those electric yellow and black ones blow my mind, and the ornates... just insanely beautiful. Love the green ornate especially.

I use terracota roofing tiles for my blue-tongue so this was super cool to see. Beautiful set up, beautiful lizards, forever tempted to get myself one. Maybe someday
