The sister product, Flex Wax, I use as a topper on ceramic when restoring faded trim and wheelwell liners. It really improves the trim restoration over ceramic alone. Splits the difference between a basic ceramic job and dye products without the mess of the latter and unlike the latter is not a disaster to get on your paint or windshield when restoring those tricky tight spots.

Good early video. Just two things in passing: (1) use a panel pen to mark what panel is where and remove the tape before washing as the adhesive in the tape compromises the test. (2) it looks like there is failure far before noted. I'm no expert but I don't think sheeting necessarily means the product is in tact and I would deem that a failure at the end. The panel is stood up so there will always be some sheeting.
@DetailingandtheBeast
3 жыл бұрын
Two quick responses that I noted are important but missing from the voice over. 1. The bonnet is at a much lower angle after the initial wash test 2. After each round of chemical, I rewashed with the pure shampoo to remove anything left behind and potentially masking the results. This is what you are seeing. The rest of the panel 100% shows a huge difference and none of these products have failed, far from it. I'm doing a test on all 5 later in the month so I'll try and show it better there, on a flatter laid panel. They are all crazy resistant products and let's not forget, shouldn't be hit with truck wash TFR, decon shampoos, and acidic wheel cleaners!

Personally think the marzipan smell of EZ CAR CARE is nicer, but that’s just me. Also on the label that you didn’t mention it has a P65warning? Is this something to be concerned about before I use the product? Hope to hear your thoughts on this, 😉, chris
@DetailingandtheBeast
3 жыл бұрын
I've read the p65 thing, and my conclusion was that "at least they put it on the label". The warning has to go on for certain chemicals, but it doesnt state how much is in there, or how much makes a human sick. It is a warning we should take note of, but ultimately my conclusion was that more brands arent including these warning who probably should be. And a final point, as serious as it is, it is technically only a warning in law for Californians! I have EZ ceramic and that does smell very nice, I've reviewed that one myself too. Their graphene on the other hand is ghastly. I prefer the TW sweets smell myself, I've since been told it could smell of Pez sweets! Remember those??
@TheChris201088

@@DetailingandtheBeast thank you for your reply, In my opinion your a car detailing influencer, one of the reasons I bought the product was because of your review, I’ve had a look on their website and can’t find anything on what chemicals they are and if it only for the USA market. Maybe this is something you could make a video on (with any products) since the community is dealing with all sorts or potentially harmful chemicals.. I’d never heard of p65 until today The EZ ceramic is my go to at the moment because of how it works on the paint and smell to work with.. your right about the EZ graphene wax though, not a pleasurable application or smell experience, in my early 30’s and do remember pez sweets 😁

"A detailing influencer" 🤣 NOOOO! I'm simply a guy in his garage trying stuff out, I started videoing it to stop people asking me what I was up to this week, and its grown from there. I've been getting random amd unnecessary detailing stuff since around 2005. Trying out different things, testing stuff against others, and upsetting many brands along the way. Videos for me just allow me to not have to repeat myself 250 times on the same subjects. I never push products down peoples throats, I'm always of the opinion that we're all grown adults, that control our own finances (hopefully!). If I show something I like, of course itll come across enthusiastically, but on the flip side, if I dislike something you'll also get to know about it with similar enthusiasm. But ultimately nobody should buy anything based on a single "review". Always gather as much info as you can from multiple sources, regardless of what it is you are buying. 😎🍻
@TheTommyOhh

Prop65 is ridiculous. Aspirine and other commonly ingested "chemicals." I suggest looking at the list of thousands of items we use everyday. I'm sure it started off with good intentions but, as with all bureaucracies, it became unwieldy and useless. I advise companies to put that label on everything or else they have to constantly review the reg to see if the latest version added something they have in the product resulting in unknown and unexpected corporate liability.

Subscribed and liked. Great work on your test, your prep, and presentation. I might add for future tests, especially ones using chemical testing, is a wet wipe before assessing the water behavior, as it can mask the performance. I would also Like to see a bit more variation in the water supply (open hose, shower head), as pressure washers usually use very little water and tilt the results toward sheeting vs flooding.

Whilst I ultimately agree - there are a few things to highlight. 1. As a product reviewer I cant reasonably offer long term testing against every product. I did this on my own Ranger with the Garage Therapy Three CS, and effectively degraded it to a state of being starting to be degraded down the sides of the car within 5 months. It just isnt possible to try every product when things nowadays are lasting longer and longer. 2. By the time such meaningful results come in, the "scene" has moved on and nobody is ultimately interested because it's now "Company X Nano/Ceramic/Graphene/Kryptonite Sealant 3.0" what they want to see. But yes, again, in an ideal world we would test stuff in the real world in real conditions, every single time (and be able to do it quickly!)

@@DetailingandtheBeast The reason I say this is, every product I have seen recommended by yourself, Pan, John at Forensic Detailing, nothing lasts a wet drive to Aberdeen and back from Stirling. Nice vid Dave. I like paste waxes as they seem to give a warm that other coatings don't. But as much as I like paste waxes, my arms don't! So with that in mind I had GT Three CS and Sigma in mind, then AM Details new Hybrid line. Then TW new Flex and Max wax came out over here and I thought hmmm maybe. Now this thing arrives and I'm back at square one. HELP!!!
@DetailingandtheBeast

I totally get what you're saying. The application and removal of the paste waxes 100% is more difficult. 3cS is a breeze to apply and remove, Sigma is ridiculously simple. I hadn't used a paste wax for a while because ease of products is a big factor for me. But, as much extra work as this is, I'm impressed and will be putting this new wax to use more over the coming months.

We cant gove an answer on how long, nobody has realistically tested it for longevity, but based on these torture tests... a LONG time. If anyone pins a number to this, they are guessing at best. A new car or an older car, it's all about the preparation to ensure a strong bond to the clearcoat. 👍

I briefly discuss it in the video. But at least a full chemical decontamination, iron fallout remover and a tar remover, full wash with a "no wax" shampoo. Optional but preferred is also a mechanical decontaminate with clay bar or towel, and a machine polish. I appreciate that a lot dont have machines, so the chemical decon should be enough. 👍

@@DetailingandtheBeast 😂😂I’ll take your word on the wonder wheels. We, of course, have nasty stuff in the US too that only get used in extreme circumstances. The paste started to sheet after a couple of hits of your test and that was on a vertical panel. That means the sheeting would’ve been more apparent on a hood(bonnet) and roof. @@DetailingandtheBeast I'm with you on the wax application side of things, everyone's lives have got busier and the need for something quick to apply doesn't necessarily mean it's better, I've always found if you put the hard work in you get the results, however paint on new cars is different to what was years ago and polish and wax were the products that worked, weather I was sucked in by the spray waxes, QD and sealant type products etc claiming this that or the other, when a wax was probably good enough and usually gives a warm glow and depth to the new type of paintwork. I've recently bought a black focus that needs a complete strip back etc paint wise,I'm now in to minds what to put on it,I've got 3cs which I've applied to a citroen c1 we have as the local runaround and it's really good,this was going to be applied to the focus after it's decon and 2 stage compound and polish, I'm now in 2 minds, help.
