Awesome video and I'm hungry = What was the total cook time? I've got an 11LB bird I want to try this with - thank you!

Thanks! I believe this was around the 3 hour mark but I would give it a check after 1.5 to 2 hours

Great vid! Did you brine first or is brine not needed with the butter?

Thank you! I did not brine, and I don’t believe it came pre brined. I think it was a butterball turkey

Trying the Pit Barrel. Always done the oven to get the time right easily. Been in the brine all night. Came here here to see how to hang it right. Thank you!

It’s a life changer. It frees up your oven for other things. Plus it comes out great. And super easy.

Hey man, what's the most effective way to avoid getting excessively smoky skin on the turkey or chicken? I usually manage to maintain clean smoke, but it seems like chicken tends to get smokier for some reason.

A higher smoker temp will help with less smoke flavor on the skin as long as it’s a clean fire. Usually when the fire is hotter it is burning cleaner. Hope this helps
