The iron bow plus is a stronger contender but I think the steel one is better because of its 55 use over its 45. It has higher might. The heaver weight is a downside but with gardening and certain skills can somewhat mitigate that. Do you plan on doing the opposite the worst and unholy weapons even wieldable by units
@Faerghast

@@zenronez1158 The main reason I put Iron Bow + over Steel Bow+ is because i really, really value the higher hitrate on the iron bow. At 3 range the ironbow+'s hit is just more reliable than steel bows. There are few things more painful than missing something crucial in Maddening. And in the early game, the Mt difference isn't terribly huge as they're not going to double. I actually am considering that list too. Something like the "worst best weapons" lol

Nice video, Ghast. There is misinformation on the FE4 section though. When a weapon gets 50 KOs, it gains the critical skill, allowing the unit using it to crit at all (skill%). The weapon gains 1% crit for every kill AFTER 50 and doesn't get to 50% (+skill%) crit until the weapon has 100 kills.

I know this isn't really a weapon, and so it doesn't really count- but I felt like mentioning it due to my personal experience and favor with it. But I've always found that Thyrsus, equipped by Lysithea, was my favorite thing in FE3H. Lysithea is already known for being an incredible unit, due to her powerful glass cannon stats, and her accessibility to increased range and powerful spells- but if you combine her already powerful kit with Thyrsus, she easily dominates the battlefield- without even the risk of being attacked (most of the time). Added on top of that, if you've got the right DLC for FE3H, you can have Lysithea promote into the Valkyrie class... Which just empowers her even more. I recall having her do around 30-50 damage average- 30 being the low point against resistance heavy units- but at a whopping range of 1-6! Added on top of this, because she's a mounted class, that being the Valkyrie, she ALSO gets increased movement- and Canto. Move in, blow people up, and run away from any possible danger. She is, in my humble opinion, the ultimate spell sniper. On a side note, I think it'd be an interesting topic if you went over some of the most powerful builds you can make characters in FE games, like Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses. I specifically mention these 3 because each character has more access to classes and skills, in turn allowing more customization and uniqueness in each playthrough. Of course, if you want to talk about earlier entries as well, that's always a good thing. Sorry about the length, just had a lot I wanted to mention.

15:00 FE12: "The more Mt, the better" - that's not an argument against the iron bow, since you can simply forge it to +7 mt to reach the same mt as the forged steel bow. If you forge +10 hit on the steel bow (to reach the same accuracy as Iron), the price is roughly the same. In exchange, iron has 5 more uses and is usable by everyone. Thus, the iron bow is better (but both are fantastic).

I am curious what you think the best weapon of Conquest is, since you don't have access to Raijinto. Speaking of prfs, for FE5, while the Grafcaliber is amazing, I think the best weapon is Vouge (Butj), aka Osian's prf. It's 1-2 range, has ridiculous crit and accuracy, you get it from the start, and you can get a replacement. Also Osian's high Con lets him capture enemies. It's my go-to weapon in that game.

I would much rather play FE8 without access to either Hand Axes or Javelins than play it without access to the Garm. You can still slaughter hordes of enemies with 1 range weapons, and then clean up the ranged stragglers on player phase. But there's nothing like the Garm to help you deal with some of the tough late game enemies. Not only does it have the highest might, and thus the most effective damage, of the legendary weapons, but that +5 Speed is so good. Plus, you get the Garm relatively early, so while it obviously doesn't have the availability of a basic weapon, you can get a lot of mileage out of it, especially if you're willing to spend a Hammerne use on it.

So for context for my comment, I only played Awakening on Hard at the highest difficulty. I started a Lunatic playthrough but just couldn't be bothered with getting past the early game to where you can start abusing DLC and such. I feel like Nosferatu is for sure one of the best weapons, but to an extent I feel like the healing is being a bit oversold. For just your general playthrough, sure Nosferatu is solid. At the end of the day like said in the video, weapon weight doesn't exist and with pair up bonuses, pair up defending and follows up, etc. You can practically park your character a majority of the time and be fine. Where I differ a bit is I feel Awakening isn't a game that should be looked at solely for completing the story. I feel this way about Echoes as well, but there's no real arguing that killer bows are completely busted in that game while the ONLY substitutes would be things like say a Dracoshield or other specific weapons you may want to equip units with. My end game for Echoes I think was literally Alm and Celica as the normal classes, Gray as a Dread Knight to be a sort of front line and I think Faye as a healer, then 4 bow knights spamming hunter volley after grinding max stats through a few cycles of the dread knight loop. Back to awakening, I think it's worth looking at the game for the Apotheosis DLC since that's essentially the hardest challenge and Nosferatu is 100% useful as like a tank item, since you can grind every unit to max stats. But If we're talking true optimization, you can get Limit Break for +10 cap to all stats on any character, Sol on nearly any character for sustain, a faire skill depending on what class your units are and Galeforce on MOST units you might want to be using. That 5th skill I usually used Armsthrift but you can replace it with a lot of other more useful skills, I just didn't like having to farm/buy/reforge weapons and with Limit Break and max luck it was 100% proc rate. I'd argue in the extent of playing past the main story looking for harder content, Mire would be the best weapon in Awakening. It's a brave tome in a game where you can inflate stats so heavily that you almost never have to consider drawbacks on using one weapon over another, so just the highest DPS potential is usually the choice. If you consider that even in end game with the Apotheosis DLC with the inflated stats you can nearly 100% guarantee you double and you can have like a 60% proc rate on Sol to heal, you practically have the healing of Nosferatu as well. The main reason why I'm considering all the potential skills for late game and stick with Mire is because it's 1-2 range with a brave effect. I don't think any other 1-2 range weapons in the game has a brave effect and since you have like a 50% proc rate on Sol you're almost guaranteed for it to proc, even before grinding if you can 4x it'll likely proc at least once each battle.

I did play TearRing Saga earlier this year and I feel like the best weapon is the Sylphid tome due to it having potentially good availability, being usable by any unit with a Wind rank alongside having high might, enemies having low res and preventing the enemy from counterattacking. It can also be combined with Vantage for a deadly Enemy Phase as long as the unit has more AS and a shield in their inventory so the enemies don't ignore attacking since it will also prevent the enemy counterattacking even with Vantage as long as it hits. It also helps that you have access to two of them. I was also thinking about the Sunflame since that is an amazing prf tome with high might, +10 defence when equipped and 1-3 range but Sylphid has more practicality which is why I think it is the best.

Nice, TRS talk. Great mentions on those two tomes, but levin swords and/or pilums would probably make this video's list for how available and effective they are for most of the game. I think pilums are also really cheap too so you have more money left over to spend on levin swords for your pegasi.

As great as Hunters Volley is, being one of, if not the best means to kill certain bosses like Rudolf or Grieth in one round, Killer Bow really shines on Enemy Phase, since it counters basically everything in the game, and some units like Leon, given he is trained in certain ways, or a Dreadlooped BowKnight (Ideally Kliff) can basically walk north in a map and rout everything that attacks them. I think EP'ing with Killer Bow is super broken in Echoes and makes so, so many of the most annoying segments of the game kind of a joke, including basically the entire Desert arc.
@personontheinternet1981

Adding onto the three houses bow-spiracy, the bows are just really broken in general. You want curved shot access in general because curved shot gives you safe chip damage and D rank bows is easy to get to. Hunter's Volley is really broken at murdering everything that isn't a defense stacking armor knight because that's so broken you can make virtually anything, including Ashe, a killing machine with the Hunter's Volley Death Blow combo because 18 base strength + 6 from Death Blow + whatever you get from the weapon + 5 from free bowfaire and the 20+ hit you probably will get from Archer makes snipers player phase monsters. Claude and Bernadetta deserve mentions because they get encloser, one of the best combat arts at shutting down enemies. Sure, it doesn't necessarily kill them, but the two tend to get into classes with massive mobility advantages anyways + pass and the two get options in other ways to murder things anyway (everyone gets brave bow, but Claude makes the most out of that weapon anyways, Bernadetta has vengeance, enough said).

Sword of Begalta is kinda a flop BUT Axe of Unowhatever, The Inexhaustible, and Spear of Assal are really good AND look awesome Of course the more reliable durability weapons are the safer option though, but choosing which weapon for different scenarios is where the important choices come in. Steel weapons have good strength and durability, but they’re slow, making them ideal for combat arts. Iron weapons are occasionally the sweet spot of light weight for doubling + raw power that Training weapons lack, securing the kill while being the only weapon in your inventory capable that 1 shots that turn I wouldn’t say iron bow is the best, but I agree it’s incredibly useful! I never equip them on non archers though, I take the Javelin/Hand Axe route... it’s just nice knowing I’m getting the prowess bonuses, not saying they’re better

Imo Brave Axe isn't even in consideration for the best weapon in FE4. In Gen 1 it's users are limited to Lex and a promoted Lachesis. It's Lex's best weapon by a mile but still doesn't make him an amazing unit or anything. He lacks pursuit, so he'll only ever be striking twice with it, and even if you give him the pursuit ring he will likely only ever double other axe users, who fall way off in number by the time you get to Chapter 4 or so. Lachesis can use it, but she will have way better options for weapons considering she'll have the capability to use literally every non holy weapon in the game, giving her the Brave Axe just slows her down for no good reason. Another problem is that neither of these units will be able to pass it down, which itself isn't an issue, a boss drops it in Chapter 6 and it retains the kills it garnered in Gen 1, however this signifies a larger issue. No child units wield axes, meaning that until Leif promotes your only option for an axe user is whichever axe bro you chose in Chapter 6, who do not benefit from the games inheritance systems. The brave axe will still be locked to subpar units, and once again a promoted Leif has way better options than any axe.

Why wouldn't I use 4 dragon riders (Palla, Catria, Caeda, and Minerva) For Tear Ring Saga I can see the best being either Sylpheed, Pilum, Brave Crossbow, or Chu-ko-nu. For Berwick Saga I'd say either Iron Spear or Gram.

The only one I disagree with is fire emblem one and the rapier. Effective damage in FE1 is quite bogged down compared to the other games, it's undeniably very helpful against the insane amount of cavaliers and knights in the game but it's low might will hold it back from doing as much damage as even the Silver Sword which is a very good contender for the best weapon as everyone can use it, has as much might as a Silver Lance, and has an incredible 3 weight. I think overall the Silver Sword is better as it's basically the best weapon throughout the whole game for not just Marth but every sword user. The Mercius deserves a special mention though because of its absurd might with the same weight as a silver sword though it's available pretty late and only Marth can use it.

@@Juan-zs6jt Bosses in FE1 are easy with or without the rapier, a lot of them don't even have 1-2 range weapons. Merric is a far better boss killer as his magic negates defense, he will do a lot more damage than rapier Marth while also attacking at a range. Comparing the winspear to the FE1 rapier is a little silly, the winspear can be forged to do absurd damage and is basically required for hard 5 while the rapier cannot be forged and thus has a measly 5 might forever in a game where even if the winspear existed it would be far from essential. It's still a great weapon but it's trash compared to the winspear.

So, the killer lance is the best weapon in FE6. Excuse me, WTF? Yes, this weapon that isn't available until the midgame is better than the killing edge? Despite, Rutger being an instrumental bosskiller for the majority of the game and his best weapon being the killing edge. Is the killer lance gonna help you against the chapter 5 or 7x boss? And you know what's the best answer against bosses that use swords? Rutger with a killing edge. Melady, Perceval and other potential killer lance users have bad hitrates against almost every boss in the game unlesd you grind support. And you oftentimes still aren't gonna have much better hitrates against sword users with lances than with swords. 10 hit isn't a very big difference and yes, as the game goes along there are more lance users, but as the game goes along you get a lot of tools like warp and the killer axe is actually a pretty decent weapon to deal with them. In the earlygame Rutger with a killing edge is your best answer for combat scenarios. Also the killer lance and lance users have way worse matchups against axe users than the killing edge and sword users have against lance users. The killer lance is good, but the killing edge is far better overall. Also, the holy bow is the best weapon in FE2? Yes, Alm does use it for the latter parts of the game, but that's Alm. Alm is a beast in FE2. The other bow users suck and you're likely not gonna use them. The holy bow also isn't that available, not to mention there are swords and spells that are also comparably strong and accurate to the Holy Bow. The best wrapon in Gaiden is the lightning sword. It dominates the earlygame and is also fairly useful in the midgame as well. It's by far the best weapon in Gaiden.

I don’t think this is the best weapon in Three Houses, but it’s my absolute favorite. The Rapier is found around chapter 8 in Manuela and Hanneman’s paralogue, so it can be easily missed. However it makes up for it by having armour and cavalry effectiveness at E rank as well as being easily forgeable and repairable, it also has 40 uses (45 if it’s forged). Pair this with the presence of Sword Power from Roy, and the weapon's availability on Mage Knight and Griffin Knight, and you get a 1-2 range killing machine with lots of hit, that completely bypasses the high defence stat of most enemies throughout the game's duration.

I think Ragnell is best weapon in fe10.Because a ridiculously overpowered sword is available mid away through which makes already impressive Ike to an invincible juggernaut.

Exactly. If Ryoma's signature weapon can get it, Ike's deserves the same. Melts the entire game

I've gotten an impressive amount of use from Forged Training Swords in FE3H. Marianne as a Falcon Knight just mows down enemy units with Soulblade, and Catherine, Yuri, and Cyril are so fast with that weapon that they easily double enemies. (Granted, I don't do maddening; I prefer to keep my sanity and if I wanted to pull my hair out, I'd play Mass Effect on Insanity difficulty from ME1 to ME3)

Magic Combat Arts on units with good magic tend to do more damage than tomes quite often. Even on Maddening they're really good.

This isn't about regalia or something, it is about the most reliable weapon and most used in that FE title each. So yeah, we have things like Hand Axes here. They are just cheap as F In fact, the only Regalia weapon in this list is the Raijinto, which is Ryoma's PRF!

I think an argument can be made in Three Houses that the best weapon in the game is the Viskam, but that is probably considered cheating since it's a hacked weapon lol. I mean if you can buy a busted sword for 1G that has 20 Mt and 9 range with 0 durability, then do you really need any other weapon?😆

Yeah, I banned viskam from all of my runs lol

I thought the same thing. That's how I managed to beat Maddening Verdant Wind.

I think the Brave Sword is often overlooked in Echoes. Sure the Killer Bow is the BEST weapon, but you just get a brave sword if you kill Deen and it's not too expensive to forge. I usually give it to Saber and watch run around with 60+ crit killing everything

And unlike the stat-based combat arts in 3H, in Echoes each individual point boosts damage dealt. Vengeance being the only exception.
